Today, let’s talk birthdays for some of our favorite NPCs!

Let’s guess what they’d love to get as presents,

and imagine what kind of birthday celebrations they’d enjoy!

1 Morrighan and Cichol

The two characters I’m most curious about are, of course, Morrighan and Cichol!

Do these two gods celebrate the day they were born, too?

Let’s imagine how we, as adventurers in Erinn, might celebrate these two gods’ birthdays…

For Morrighan, what if we chose the day humans first became aware of her existence as her birthday?

We could all come together for a huge festival, like an anniversary celebrating Morrighan’s arrival😁

We’d decorate the village with black-wing decorations,

and put sculptures of the goddess all around~

Everyone could get together to cook and share a meal~

What a lovely way to spend some time giving thanks to the goddess Morrighan!

For Cichol, let’s take the opposite approach to Morrighan’s day.

We could all gather to pray that Cichol wouldn’t be able to use his full power,

and maybe hold a purification ritual?

The villagers could exchange gifts associated with purification, like herbs or salt,

and hold a ritual to pray for the village’s safety from the Fomors.

These two NPCs are hardly ordinary characters,

so I guess their celebrations have ended up a little far from birthday parties!

As you play through the story, you get the impression that Morrighan was human before she became a god,

so I’d love to find out her birthday from her human days someday.

Cichol, on the other hand… was he a god from the very beginning?

That’s how it sounds when he talks, but even a god must have a day they were born, right?

Maybe the Fomors celebrate the day their king was born.

2 Duncan of Tir Chonaill

Good old Duncan, the chief of Tir Chonaill!

He’s one of the people we can always count on throughout our adventures~

He seems like someone whose birthday nobody in the village would forget.

I’d love to see everyone come together to throw him a birthday party, like a little village get-together!

Caitin, Alissa, and Nora could handle the food,

while Malcolm could bring everyday essentials and Dilys could put together a selection of medicines to keep on hand as gifts.

I can imagine Lassar, the schoolteacher, bringing some special birdseed

as a gift for the little friend perched on Duncan’s shoulder.

A party every birthday might feel like a bit too much fuss for Chief Duncan,

so perhaps we could save the celebrations for his milestone birthdays.

Everyone could take a breather from work and spend some time growing closer as neighbors~

As an adventurer, what should I give Chief Duncan?

Maybe a special potted plant I found in another village,

or perhaps a storybook🤔

3 Nao, a Mysterious Figure

The next person I’d like to celebrate a birthday for is…

None other than Nao, our companion on our adventures!

If you’ve been following the main story closely, you’ll know this already,

but Nao’s true identity is actually ‘(redacted)’!

Nao can’t fully remember who she used to be…

So it stands to reason that she wouldn’t remember her birthday either😢

What if we made the day she began adventuring with us her birthday?

That feels meaningful to me, since it’s also the day she became someone new and truly made a fresh start.

I’d love to give Nao some new clothes suited to adventuring.

A weapon to help her protect herself would make a nice gift, too.

A bow and arrows would probably feel familiar and comfortable in her hands, right?

Let’s give her a dagger for emergencies, too!

We could all gather in Tarlach’s cave for a small birthday party,

or celebrate over by the observatory in Tir Chonaill—that would be lovely, too~

And the Others…

Beyond the goddess Morrighan, Cichol, Chief Duncan, and Nao,

there are so many NPCs whose birthdays I’d love to know.

I hope someday we can have more meaningful interactions with NPCs and build up their affection,

getting to know their birthdays and giving them presents along the way~

If I had to pick a few characters I’m most curious about right now,

they’d be Tarlach, Kristell, 킬리언, and 아르미스!

I’m sure you adventurers reading this
