Hope you’re having a fun and clever time living in Erinn!

Today, I want to chat about the birthdays of some of our favorite NPCs.

Let’s guess what kind of birthday gifts they’d love,

and imagine what kind of birthday events would make them happiest too!

1. Morrighan and Cichol

The two characters I’m most curious about have to be Morrighan and Cichol!

Do these two gods celebrate the day they were born too?

From an adventurer’s point of view in Erinn, if we were going to celebrate the birthdays of these two gods...

for Morrighan, what if we treated the day humans first recognized her existence as her birthday?

Kind of like a Morrighan Advent Memorial Day, where everyone gathers for one huge festival 😁

We could decorate the village with black wing ornaments,

and place sculptures modeled after the Goddess all around~

Everyone could gather together, make food, and share it~

Then spend the day offering thanks to Goddess Morrighan!

For Cichol, let’s go with the complete opposite of Morrighan’s day.

What if everyone gathered together to pray that Cichol can’t fully use his power,

and held a purification ritual too?

The villagers could exchange gifts tied to purification, like herbs or salt,

and perform a ritual praying for the village’s safety from the Fomors.

Since these two NPCs really aren’t ordinary characters,

this ended up feeling pretty far from a regular birthday party, huh.

As you go through the story, Morrighan gives off the feeling that she became a god after once being human,

so I’d love it if the birthday she had back when she was human gets revealed someday.

On the other hand, was Cichol a god from the very beginning?

From the way he talks, it kind of seems that way... but even gods must have a day they were born, right?

Maybe the Fomors celebrate the day their king was born.

2. Duncan of Tir Chonaill

Grandpa Duncan, the chief of Tir Chonaill!

He’s one of the most dependable helpers on an adventurer’s journey~

He really feels like the kind of character the whole village would never forget to celebrate.

It’d be so nice if everyone got together and threw him a birthday party like a cozy little village gathering!

Caitin, Alissa, and Nora could handle the food,

while Malcolm prepares daily necessities, and Dilys puts together some useful medicine as gifts.

And Lassar, the school teacher, would probably bring special bird feed as a gift

for Duncan’s little friend on his shoulder.

It feels like Chief Duncan might find it a little burdensome if there were a party every single birthday,

so maybe it’d be nice if a feast only happened once in a while when he reached certain ages.

Everyone could take a break from work, catch their breath, and spend some time deepening those neighborly bonds too~

As an adventurer, what kind of gift should I give Chief Duncan?

Maybe a potted plant from another village,

or how about a storybook? 🤔

3. The Mysterious Figure, Nao

The next person I really want to celebrate a birthday for is...

none other than Nao, your companion on the adventurer’s journey!

If you’ve been following the main story closely, you probably already know,

but Nao’s true identity is actually ‘(redacted)’, right!

Nao can’t perfectly remember who she originally was...

So naturally, she probably can’t remember her own birthday either 😢

What if we celebrated the day she started adventuring alongside the adventurer as her birthday?

I think that would be really meaningful, since it’s also the day she truly began a fresh new start as a new person.

I’d want to give Nao some new clothes that are good for adventuring.

And it’d be nice to give her a weapon too, so she can protect herself.

She’s probably most comfortable with a bow and arrows, right?

Let’s give her a dagger for emergencies too!

Everyone could gather at Tarlach’s cave and have a small birthday party,

or celebrating over by the observatory in Tir Chonaill would be lovely too~

And also...

Besides Goddess Morrighan and Cichol, Chief Duncan, and Nao,

there are so many NPCs whose birthdays I’m curious about.

Someday, I hope we get to interact more deeply with NPCs and build up affinity with them,

so we can learn their birthdays and even give them gifts too~

If I had to pick a few characters I’m most curious about right now,

I’d say Tarlach, Kristell, Killian, and Armis!
