Hello, this is GameSky.

Today, I’m back once again with Maple Planet. This time, we’ll be looking at the Pirate class. In MapleStory, Pirates split into Gunslinger and Infighter. Depending on how you distribute your stats and skills, you’ll need to choose whether to go with Gunslinger or Infighter. Today, let’s go over the Pirate class’s 1st job skill build.

Let’s get started.

Ability Points and Stats

First, let’s look at ability point distribution. As you can see, there are Auto Distribution I and II. If you choose Auto Distribution I, you’ll go down the Infighter path, while Auto Distribution II puts you on the Gunslinger path. If you made a mistake when assigning skills or stats, you can reset them with an AP or SP Reset Scroll.

Skill Review

There are 5 skills in total. Among them, the attack skills differ depending on whether you choose Infighter or Gunslinger. Let’s take a closer look at each one.

First is Quick Motion. This is a passive Pirate skill that increases accuracy and avoidability. Since it’s a very important skill that boosts your stats, you should definitely max it out.

Next is Straight. This is an Infighter-exclusive skill. It’s similar to the Pirate version of Power Strike. Because of that, it isn’t used very often while training, so you can leave it at 11 points or take it all the way to 20 MAX.

Next is Somersault Kick. This was my favorite skill when I played Pirate. It can hit up to 6 monsters at once, which makes it especially useful for training. Put 11 points into it, or raise it to 20.

Next is Double Fire. This is a Gunslinger-exclusive 1st job skill. If you want to advance as a Gunslinger, then put 11 points into Somersault Kick, and personally I think it’s best to raise Double Fire to 20 MAX.

Lastly, there’s a skill called Dash. It’s a movement skill similar to the Pirate version of Flash Jump and Teleport, and it increases movement speed and jump. Since it becomes much more useful when moving around different areas, you should max it out.

Gunslinger & Infighter 1st Job Skill Build

Gunslinger

Double Fire 1 -> Quick Motion 20 -> Dash 10 -> Double Fire 20 -> Somersault Kick 11

Infighter

Somersault Kick Tree: Straight 1 -> Somersault Kick 20 -> Quick Motion 20 -> Dash 10 -> Straight 11

Dash Tree: Quick Motion 20 -> Straight 20 -> Somersault Kick 11 -> Dash 10

That’s the skill build. Infighter has two options here. If you want a training-focused setup, it’s better to MAX Somersault Kick. If you want to go with the Dash tree, it’s better to MAX Straight.
