My Recap of MapleStory’s 23rd Anniversary Private Event at Lotte World! #메이플 아일랜드

Hello! This is Picker Namaka.

I finally got to go! I previously shared the news about the opening of Lotte World Maple Island, and on April 29, MapleStory’s 23rd Anniversary Happy Maple Day in Lotte World full-day private rental event was held. As someone who truly loves MapleStory, I headed there feeling incredibly excited :)

So now, let me share my recap of the Maple 23rd anniversary private rental event, packed with the kind of experiences you could only have on that one special day!

MapleStory Lotte World

Full-Day Private Rental Event Info

On April 29, the exact day of MapleStory’s 23rd anniversary, a special event was held where all of Lotte World Adventure was reserved exclusively for Maple users.

Honestly, you could tell this event was going to be huge from the ticketing alone. Since it was a massive event bringing together around 10,000 Maple users, competition for tickets was fierce as well. I was lucky enough to get mine on the first round in one try, and my friends all made it through the first and second rounds too, so we spent the whole time counting down to the big day!

I honestly wanted to do an open run, but I figured there would be sooooo many people, so I took it easy and arrived at 11 instead. From what I heard, right before opening, the line stretched all the way to Seokchon Lake (...)

So I was pretty nervous, but from picking up the admission ticket to actually getting inside, the line management was handled so well that I got in much faster than I expected!

Special One-Day-Only 23rd Anniversary Events!

Unlike a regular visit, the day was packed with special touches you could only enjoy this time around! On entry, we received a wristband, a pamphlet, one Maple Island attraction ride pass, and a postcard featuring the 23rd anniversary illustration.

01. Cake Photo Zone

The “Let’s Become a Maple Hero!” photo zone in Meeting Plaza had been specially redecorated with a 23rd anniversary cake theme. It was wildly popular, but I knew I’d regret skipping it, so I waited it out! And once I finally got my photo taken, I was so satisfied and happy ㅎㅎ

02. Popular Streamers Appeared as One-Day Staff!

Seven popular creators—세글자, 팡이요, 명예훈장, 청묘, 타요, 이라333, and 안녕수야—appeared as one-day staff members! Since they were stationed throughout the venue, it honestly felt like the waiting time passed much faster. They must have been exhausted, so I was especially grateful that they were still kind enough to take photos with people too!!

03. A Heartfelt Snack Coupon

There was also an event where the first 2,500 people to solve a quiz prepared by BTS Jin through the QR codes on banners set up around Lotte World would receive a snack coupon. I got question number 4: “What is Jin’s favorite town in the Maple World?” The correct answer was Ludibrium!

After solving the quiz, I won a coupon for the Orange Mushroom Orange Sunrise. It was a shop that also sold the popular red and blue potions, so the line was super long and I decided to pass on itㅠ Instead, I stole a few bites of the snacks my friends won, and they were really good! Thank you, Gamjoo-nim ㅎㅎ

Maple Island Review!

Maple Island is located in Magic Island (outdoors), and it consists of four attractions in total: Stone Express, Arcana Ride, Eos Tower, and Gyro Spin.

On the day of the event, you could only ride one Maple Island attraction. I spent a while debating which one to choose, and in the end I picked Eos Tower because it had the shortest line... and I guess that turned out to be fate ㅋㅋㅋ

Eos Tower is a tower-style drop ride inspired by Eos Tower. The moment I started rising up into the sky, I suddenly heard a huge wave of cheering all around me! I looked around wondering what was happening, and then, Director Kim Changseop was coming up on Stone Express (the roller coaster)!?

He even waved while riding the roller coaster, so I enthusiastically waved back from Eos Tower too ㅋㅋㅋ

Even now, it still feels unreal!! I seriously never imagined I’d run into the director midairㅋㅋㅋ I don’t think I’ll ever forget that moment. After that, he rode it three more times and kept giving fans more fan service(?) too!

Of course, I can’t leave out the goods shop either. I personally skipped it because someone in my group had visited earlier and bought things for me in advance, but I heard the merch waiting numbers that day climbed into the hundreds! A lot of items sold out as well, so if you’re interested in the merch, I definitely recommend heading there early.

A Day That Felt Even More Special Because We Were Together!

I stayed all the way through the evening parade and the media mapping show before heading home, and with so many users there together, it really felt like an even more joyful birthday party!!

On the roller coaster, while waiting in line, and really everywhere I went, I could hear people talking about Maple. We reacted together when we spotted streamers, waved together at the director, and even watched the live broadcast at 3 PM together. It made me think, everyone here really does love Maple~

As far as I know, the largest offline gathering of Maple users before this was the 2023 NEW AGE Showcase held at the Olympic Park Handball Gymnasium, with around 6,000 attendees. This time, though, it felt even more meaningful and special because it was an experience where around 10,000 users came together in one place and enjoyed it side by side :)

That wraps up my visit recap for MapleStory’s 23rd anniversary Happy Maple Day in Lotte World!

Since it was such a huge, record-setting event, it really was an incredibly fun and happy day. The 23rd anniversary full-day private rental event has ended, but the Maple Island event will continue until Sunday, June 14. If I get the chance, I’m planning to visit one more time before it wraps up.

If you love Maple, or just cute characters and amusement rides, I definitely recommend visiting at least once and making some special memories of your own!

That’s all for this post!

Picker Namaka signing off. Thank you :)
