Today, we’re taking a break from games to explore Nexon’s community initiatives for children!!
Nexon is Korea’s best-known game company.
It is also known for its wide-ranging community initiatives.
The company is particularly active in supporting children through a variety of programs.
It provides ongoing support for children’s rehabilitation hospitals and regional hospitals dedicated to children.
It also draws on Nexon’s diverse IPs and technologies to offer coding education.
What else do children need to stay well and grow up healthy?

Children’s Right to Play
Article 31 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child states that every child has the right to appropriate rest and leisure and to participate in cultural and artistic activities.
That right is written into the convention.
Even adults need rest—so of course children need time to play!!
For children, play is more than a break; it can also be a way to learn about society.
Playing with friends teaches children about the roles they take on during play.
Those friendships also help them develop social skills, making play an opportunity to learn about relationships.
Play teaches them lessons about relationships that are difficult to learn through studying alone.
But where can they play...?
Spaces That Promote Children’s Right to Play
Half of Korea’s playgrounds are reportedly located within residential developments such as apartment complexes.
When we were young, there were playgrounds all over our neighborhoods. Now, there simply aren’t that many around.
That’s where Nexon comes in!! As part of its community initiatives, the company is creating spaces that promote children’s right to play.
It began with Maple Leaf Playground No. 1 in Seongnam.

Next came Maple Leaf Playground No. 2 in Uijeongbu.
And recently, the company opened Maple Leaf Playground No. 3 at Seoul Grand Park!!
Maple Leaf Playground No. 3 spans an impressive 750 pyeong, giving plenty of children room to run around and play.

The playground boasts no fewer than 5 slides!
There’s plenty more to enjoy, including trampolines, swings, and a maze!
