Children need to play right now!!! Introducing Nexon’s 3rd Maple Leaf Playground!
마포감튀

Hello.
This is Mapo Gamtyu.
Today, instead of talking about a game, let’s look at Nexon’s social contribution efforts for children!!
Nexon is one of the best-known game companies in Korea.
It is also widely known for carrying out social contribution work in especially diverse ways.
In particular, it has been especially active in a wide range of social contribution efforts for children.
It has consistently supported a rehabilitation hospital for children, along with regional children’s hospitals dedicated exclusively to young patients.
On top of that, it also runs coding education programs using Nexon’s various IPs and technologies.
So what else do children need in order to grow up healthy and stay well?
What are some of our happiest memories from childhood?
Running around and playing at the playground, of course!!
Children’s Right to Play
Article 31 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child - Every child has the right to enjoy adequate rest and leisure and to participate in cultural and artistic activities.
That is what it says.
Adults need rest too, so of course children need play!!
For children, play is not simply a break, but also a way to learn about society.
As they play with friends, they learn about the roles they take on in play,
and through their relationships with friends, play can become a place to learn about relationships and socialization.
In other words, through play they learn about relationships in ways that studying alone cannot easily teach.
But then... where are they supposed to play?
A Space to Promote Children’s Right to Play
It is said that half of Korea’s playgrounds are located inside shared housing complexes such as apartment buildings.
When we were young, there were playgrounds all around the neighborhood, but now there simply are not that many anymore.
So!! Nexon is carrying out social contribution work that creates spaces to promote children’s right to play.

And not long ago, it opened Maple Leaf Playground No. 3 at Seoul Grand Park!!

Maple Leaf Playground No. 3 was built on a massive 750-pyeong site so that large numbers of children can run, play, and enjoy the space freely.
How Maple Leaf Playground Is Organized
The playground features no fewer than five slides,
along with a variety of facilities including trampolines, swings, and maze play areas!
There are also shaded areas and rest spaces where families can sit back and relax together.
