Did you know you can now see MapleStory characters at Lotte World? The Maple Island theme park is now open, with attractions and merchandise inspired by MapleStory!

I’m planning to visit in May and wanted to find out more about what’s there before I go. I thought many of you might feel the same way, so I’ve put together a quick overview.

4 Attractions

Lotte World has 4 Maple Island attractions: Stone Express, Arcana Ride, Eos Tower, and Gyro Spin. If you enjoy amusement parks, you can probably tell what kind of ride each one is just from its name.

There aren’t many restrictions, and anyone 110cm or taller can enjoy all the attractions. Even if, like me, you’re not a huge fan of rides, you’ll probably still have fun.

MapleStory director Kim Chang-seop, Jin of BTS, and Beomgyu of TOMORROW X TOGETHER picked “Arcana Ride” as their favorite. It seemed to glide along gently at first, then surprised them with fast turns. Since it’s a 2-person ride, it might not be quite as intense as it looks in the GIF, but I think sharing the ride could make it even more fun.

One ride to be aware of is Gyro Spin. You sit facing outward as it spins you around in a circle, so it may not be for you if you don’t handle scary rides well. Even Kim Chang-seop, who was chuckling at first, soon lost his smile.

Maple Island Merchandise

After the rides, there’s plenty of cute merchandise to browse. The lineup includes plushies of MapleStory’s iconic monsters, drawstring bags, hooded blankets, memo pad sets, plush pen holders, and more. The Red Snail plush pen holder is so cute that I’m planning to buy one.

I’m also planning to pick up the 토벤머리 용사 plush and Papulatus plush. The Papulatus plush is particularly well made, and its bright colors would make it a great display piece.

I haven’t visited yet and have only seen Maple Island on YouTube and the official website, but it looks even better than I imagined. I’m really looking forward to seeing it in person. +_+
