Hello! This is Picker Namaka.

How do you all hold on to those special moments in games? I’ve loved leaving little records of my time in games for a long time now. I even started a Naver blog in the beginning just so I could keep a game diary. That habit has stayed with me all this time, and even now I still quietly keep up my game diary #아카이빙.

These days I’m not as diligent about writing a proper game diary, but one habit has definitely stayed with me. It’s hitting the capture button without even thinking. When I’m in the middle of playing, my fingers move before I do, so my screenshot folder is still steadily filling up with character screenshots, event participation records, and fun little moments with friends.

Memorable moments!

01. Winning the Golden Vault!

This was the Gold Rich Secret Vault event from last August! Among the passwords that were entered only once, the winning numbers were picked from the smallest up through the 500th smallest. I was lucky enough to win, and I received 80 Black Cubes as the reward.

When the results were announced and the number I picked started sparkling, I was so thrilled...! The cube results were a little disappointing, but honestly, I was happy just to have won :)

02. A Masterpiece miracle on my birthday!

This happened in early April! A new Master Label had just been released, so I tried Masterpiece again for the first time in a while, and luckily I got a 1-year Marabel weapon. It was actually my birthday that day, so I still remember how happy I felt—almost like MapleStory had given me a birthday gift :)

03. Waiting for the Hot Time announcement!

I can’t leave out the MapleStory Hot Time event that took place on the 22nd, either. It had been such a long time since we’d had a Hot Time event, and with BTS Jin hosting it himself, I logged in feeling genuinely excited.

The town was absolutely packed, and so many of my friends and guildmates were online too. While we waited for the announcement, we stood around in town chatting away and joking, “No, I’m the winner!!” “No, it’s me!” But when the results finally came in... sadly, every one of us lost. It’s a sad little memory ㅠ.ㅠ

Even so, just getting to share that excitement with my friends became such a lovely memory in itself. I really hope another Hot Time event comes around someday! It was so nice to experience that again after such a long time ㅎㅎ

That was my little story of game #아카이빙 so far!

Even if it’s not some especially incredible play, just knowing I was there in that moment feels like reason enough to save it. I think that’s why it feels a little special whenever I open those memories again later.

So how about saving a screenshot or two while you’re playing as well? When you look back on them later, I’m sure they’ll have turned into wonderful memories.
