Just thinking about it already feels like a super fresh idea, right?

So today, we decided to debut the adorable NPC from Mabinogi Mobile,

Osla, as a Virtual YouTuber.

Getting Osla Ready for Her VTuber Debut

First things first: to become a VTuber, you need an avatar.

Osla’s biggest charm is that wonderfully dazed expression!

So naturally, she needed an avatar that could really sell that face.

And for a VTuber, the way they talk and their concept are key too.

“If it flops... maybe that’s fine too...”

Yep, she’s already got the pre-debut mindset down.

And with that, Virtual Osla’s debut stream begins!

Osla’s workshop was recreated as-is and turned into a studio,

and for a first stream, the screen setup looks surprisingly well put together.

But true to her clumsy vibe, her communication skills still look a little shaky.

The first stream content? Enhancement service!

Mabinogi Mobile doesn’t even have equipment destruction,

but somehow, against all odds, she still managed to destroy it.

Even spaced-out Osla gets rattled when that happens.

And just like that, Osla hurriedly ended her first stream.

Next time, she says she’ll bring Nao on as a guest!

For reference, on the Japanese server of Blue Archive,

they actually make videos using in-game characters like Virtual YouTubers,

and put out all kinds of short-form videos like this.

Personally, VTubers have become pretty familiar in Korea too,

and game-character VTubers like this also tend to feel easier to accept,

so I think it could be really fun if game companies actually gave it a try.
