Sometimes when I'm playing a game, the journey itself feels more meaningful than the outcome.

I've found this especially true in games like MapleStory, where you put so much time and care into raising a character.

Saving those fleeting moments gives me something to look back on later, bringing the memories flooding back.

capturing the moments I've treasured while playing MapleStory!

A Folder Full of Screenshots

Screenshots are still the easiest, most reliable way to capture a moment.

While working on this post, I opened my MapleStory screenshot folder.

I'd somehow collected over 1000 files…!

Thinking of each file as a treasured record of my character's growth made me appreciate them all over again.

The very first picture in the folder was dated February 21, 2021.

I couldn't believe almost 5 years had already gone by.

Does anyone remember this part of the game?!

Just scrolling through the pictures in that folder

felt like watching my time in MapleStory unfold before me!

Sadly, I couldn't find any pictures from when I first started playing... I must have taken those on another computer 😥

I even found screenshots of Azmoth Canyon, which is no longer playable.

I wish I'd captured a little more of it,

but I'm glad I still have something to remember it by.

I also found pictures of the event map that opened for last year's New Year celebrations.

I still remember it so clearly, and yet it's already '26. Time really does fly.

Seeing those screenshots again made that sink in.

The most recent pictures were from when I was waiting to find out if I'd won in 어메이진 핫타임.

Did any Nexon PEAK users win, I wonder...? No luck for me, unfortunately!

The Maple Diaries on My Blog

I used to keep Maple diaries on my blog, too.

I wanted to preserve those treasured memories with friends for years to come,

so I remember taking care to write it all down on my blog!

Looking back after all this time, I found those little memories of chatting, joking around, and having fun in the game

still there on my blog, just as I'd left them :)

Even my struggle to roll the hairstyle I wanted was still there in writing.

I'm so, so glad we can choose our hairstyles now...!

As I reread those old posts,

I found myself smiling at thoughts like, “We had so much fun playing together back then~ Oh, that was what everyone was into at the time~”

Hunting solo is fun too, but I think it's the time we share with others that stays with us the longest!

If you have memories you'd like to hold on to, why not save some screenshots or write about them on a blog?

Having something to look back on someday and think, “I really had such a good time playing~”

seems worthwhile in itself 😊
