a big fan of Nexon games!

How would you feel if your favorite character appeared right in front of you? Excited? Scared? Happy? Today, I turned to ChatGPT (the paid version) to see what MapleStory characters would look like in real life.

I picked 4 popular characters and gave them cool, realistic designs. I hope you'll enjoy this little bit of fun. Let's go!

Lotus

First up is Lotus. With his blond hair and stylish black gown, his design is a favorite among many players. Just to clear things up for anyone who doesn't know, Lotus is a male character.

I think his windswept hair, his use of electricity, and that softly glowing mechanical cape make him look even cooler. He's designed to look like a delicate, pretty young boy, so picturing him slumped on the ground after his defeat makes my heart ache a little.

Will

Next up is Will. Of all the male bosses in MapleStory, I think he might come across as the smartest and sexiest. His stylish robes and spellbook came out really well, and his face still has that same aloof look.

There's something a little scary about him, too, when I think about the evil lurking beneath that aloof exterior. Personally, I think this realistic version turned out a bit more handsome. If he got a remake with these looks, I imagine he'd become even more popular with women.

카이

Third is 카이. Many of you probably haven't seen 카이 before. She's a seasonal boss on the Challengers server, and her pretty, modern-day female ninja design has made her popular. She's also a swordmaster—a character type I love—so that makes me like her even more.

Those qualities have also sent the value of the rare item “Magnificent 카이 Soul” up considerably. I saw her for the first time yesterday, and she was so pretty. She looks like she could be a real person, so I think plenty of people would be fooled if you didn't tell them she was made with ChatGPT!

Mike (Director Kim Chang-seop Version)

Last up is Director Kim Chang-seop as Mike. I didn't make this up for a laugh. This is an actual NPC in MapleStory.

I know perfectly well what Director Kim Chang-seop looks like in real life, but I was curious to see how ChatGPT would make a realistic version of this character, so I gave it a try. It was fascinating to see the same hairstyle, glasses, pose, and portrait focus effect recreated. Still, I think the real Kim Chang-seop looks cooler. 😎😎

As AI keeps improving, we're seeing a lot more content that reimagines characters in real life. Trying it with MapleStory, a game I love, made it even more fun for me. If I get the chance, I might try some other characters next time. Thanks for reading!
