A New Focus-Based Gameplay Element! DNF Mobile April Developer Note

On April 15, DNF Mobile used a developer note to preview the April 23 update. It is a fairly substantial patch overall, with two new advancements, a new elite dungeon, and a broad set of improvement updates.

What stands out most this time is how many timing- and judgment-based mechanics that reward focus are woven into the update, so players who enjoy strong hand-feel should have plenty to watch for. Here is a quick breakdown of the key points.

Male Striker and Male Spitfire

On April 23, the new Male Fighter character will be added. Players will be able to choose between two advancements: Striker and Street Fighter.

Where Female Striker is built around nonstop combo routing through Muscle Shift, Male Striker focuses on building up and releasing a heavy hit through Extreme Charge.

The longer you charge, the more damage you deal, and Super Armor is active during the charge. Full charge is not always required, so you can also release it early depending on the situation. In practice, it is a focus-heavy mechanic where your real damage output changes noticeably depending on how well you read the timing.

With Awakening Dual Release, you can push the value of a single Extreme Charge much higher. It is a similar idea to how Glacial Master can fill stacks all at once with an Awakening skill.

The combo flow on attack skills is also being adjusted to feel more natural, and Seombo is said to support smoother movement as well.

Male Street Fighter, like Female Street Fighter, has had its throwing skills reorganized for comfortable mobile play, with Chain Throw and Dirty Mark serving as its core systems.

Chain Throw lets you toss your available thrown items in sequence with a single key. It also includes a parry-style element, where countering on the enemy's attack timing lets you keep attacking without taking damage.

Its overall structure is close to a focus game that asks for constant decisions in rhythm, so players who value hand-feel should find it especially appealing. The Provoke skill is also said to reinforce that underhanded fighter identity.

Dirty Mark works by branding enemies with certain skills, such as Mount, which then doubles the duration of all status effects currently applied to that target.

As a result, the class is built to stack status effects efficiently, which should also create that satisfying payoff of gathering them up and detonating them for heavy damage.

These Male Fighter characters will also have a level-up event running on the day of the update. Since extra tickets will be provided separately from the ongoing Next Highway event, leveling one should be effectively easy and close to free.

New Elite Dungeon: Tower of Despair

Players have been calling it Jeoltap. Tower of Despair, the next step after Valley of Oblivion, is being added.

The required Adventurer Fame is 150,000 for Normal, 167,000 for Expert, and 180,000 for Master, and each week, players will be able to clear both Valley of Oblivion and Tower of Despair.

The named monster is Magic Bullet 6 Reina, themed after Female Ranger, while the boss, Pungwolju Bihwarang, overwhelms players with a relentless mix of arrows and drones.

With patterns coming nonstop, the fight looks like another concentration-heavy encounter, and it should feel even more tense to clear than Valley of Oblivion.

The reward structure is the same as Valley of Oblivion.

Normal drops Epic equipment, Expert drops Light Epic equipment, and Master drops both Epic and Light Epic equipment.

A new material item, Genesis Engine Fragment, is also being added. These fragments can be used not only for Light Epic prefix conversion, but also for Exceed prefix conversion and Echoes of Erosion (Sirocco weapon material).

Other Improvements

DNF Mobile's synergy characters currently include Crusader, Holy, Nen Master, Enchantress, Shaman, Dark Templar, Soul, and Witch.

Among them, Soul, Dark Templar, Nen Master, Witch, and Shaman will be able to convert their synergy skills into personal buffs to improve their performance as damage dealers. In other words, players will be able to choose directly between a dealer role and a synergy role.

Position icons will also be shown during party recruitment to remove confusion. Crusader, Holy, and Enchantress appear to have been excluded from this rework because their utility skills are already highly effective simply by being present.

In addition, a set equipment guide will be added, and a system that automatically moves obtained items to the Adventure Group vault will also be introduced. A low-spec mode is also being added, allowing play on devices around the level of a Galaxy S10 or higher and an iPhone 11 or higher.

It was not called out separately here, but 2nd Awakening passive skills are also included in the first-half 2026 milestone. This was one of the better-received update previews, but because it ties directly into sensitive class balance issues, it seems they deliberately chose not to go into detail.

Closing Thoughts

That covers the latest Dungeon & Fighter Mobile updates, including Male Striker, Male Street Fighter, and Tower of Despair. In May, Trial (Disaster) Sol Doros, the Avatar Showroom, and HUD customization are scheduled to arrive, while June looks set to be more of a breather with the summer Snow Mage update. For anyone starting fresh or returning, the timing looks especially favorable.
