This time, the theme is Everyone Has It but Me, so I’m looking at items that just about any player would love to have.

Landing a valuable drop is a big part of what keeps players coming back to RPGs. With that in mind, this post brings together information on where to obtain some of MapleStory’s most sought-after items.

Experienced players will already know this firsthand, but newcomers may find the information scattered across different sources. I hope this post makes it easier to find what you need in one place. If you spot anything incorrect, please let me know, and I’ll gladly fix it.

Before We Begin: How Item Drop Rate Increases Apply

All of the information above comes from official announcements. For boss drops, Item Drop Rate bonuses apply only to equipment items and special skill ring boxes. In party play, the rate used is that of the player who dealt the most damage to the chest on the reward map.

All prices listed are for completely unenhanced items at the time of writing. Prices may change with market conditions, so please treat them as a rough guide.

An Item That Consistently Holds Its Value — Dominator Pendant

The longstanding Dominator Pendant drops from Arkarium (Normal) and is trading for around 700 million mesos at the time of writing.

As a daily boss, Arkarium can be defeated every day. He also occasionally drops Confusion Fragments, along with Primal Essence during the early stages of Challenger World only, giving players several reasons to like this boss.

This item and the Black Bean Mark below are common uses for the Platinum Scissors of Karma, which can be purchased once per month from the Maple Rewards Shop.

These items are not considered valuable finds in regular worlds, but they do have value in [Challenger World].

Pitched Boss Set — Mitra's Rage

Mitra's Rage (Warrior/Magician/Bowman/Thief/Pirate) is an emblem obtained from the Mitra's Rage Selection Box, which drops from Chosen Seren (Hard/Extreme). It is trading for around 500 million mesos at the time of writing.

Pitched Boss Set — Berserked

Berserked is a face accessory that drops from Lotus (Hard/Extreme) and is trading for around 1.2–1.4 billion mesos at the time of writing.

Pitched Boss Set — Commanding Force Earring

The Commanding Force Earring is an earring item that drops from Darknell (Hard) and is trading for around 1.6–1.7 billion mesos at the time of writing.

Pitched Boss Set — Magic Eyepatch

The Magic Eyepatch is an eye accessory that drops from Damien (Hard) and is trading for around 2.7–2.8 billion mesos at the time of writing.

Pitched Boss Set — Dreamy Belt

The Dreamy Belt is a belt that drops from Lucid (Hard) and is trading for around 3.8 billion mesos at the time of writing.

Pitched Boss Set — Cursed Spellbook

The Cursed Red/Blue/Green/Yellow Spellbooks are pocket items obtained from the Cursed Spellbook Selection Box, which drops from Will (Hard). They are trading for around 3.8–4.0 billion mesos at the time of writing.

The colors differ in their base stats, with each color providing 10 more points in its corresponding stat: Red (Warrior—STR), Blue (Magician—INT), Green (Bowman—DEX), Yellow (Thief—LUK).

Pitched Boss Set — Endless Terror

Endless Terror is a ring that drops from Gloom (Hard) and is trading for around 4.6–4.8 billion mesos at the time of writing.

Pitched Boss Set — Source of Suffering

The Source of Suffering is a pendant that drops from Verus Hilla (Hard) and is trading for around 4.4–4.6 billion mesos at the time of writing.

Chaotic Pitched Boss Accessory Box

This box drops from higher-tier bosses and contains an item from the Pitched Boss accessory list above, excluding the Mitra's Rage Selection Box. Each item has a set chance of appearing, but those chances are not equal. The following bosses drop this box:

• Kaling (Normal/Hard/Extreme)

• 찬란한 흉성 (Normal/Hard)

• Limbo (Normal/Hard)

• 발드릭스 (Normal/Hard)

• 유피테르 (Normal/Hard)

The Pitched Boss Accessory Box also dropped from Kai (Normal/Hard), the seasonal boss first introduced in Challenger World Season 3. This appears to have been an additional measure to offset the reduced Pitched Boss accessory drop rates from Verus Hilla and lower-tier bosses. Unless this approach changes, seasonal bosses in Challenger World will likely continue to offer this reward.

Pitched Boss Set — Genesis Badge

The Genesis Badge is a badge that drops from the Black Mage (Hard/Extreme) and is trading for around 26–27 billion mesos at the time of writing.

Since the Black Mage is a monthly boss, he is naturally defeated less often than weekly bosses.

Pitched Boss Set — Complete Under Control

Complete Under Control is a mechanical heart that drops from Lotus (Extreme) and is trading for around 24–25 billion mesos at the time of writing.

Exceptional Hammer (Belt)

The Exceptional Hammer (Belt) drops from the Black Mage (Extreme) and is trading for around 8.3–8.4 billion mesos at the time of writing.

Exceptional Hammer (Face Accessory)

The Exceptional Hammer (Face Accessory) drops from Chosen Seren (Extreme) and is trading for around 8.6–8.8 billion mesos at the time of writing.

Exceptional Hammer (Eye Accessory)

The Exceptional Hammer (Eye Accessory) drops from Kalos the Guardian (Extreme) and is trading for around 27–28 billion mesos at the time of writing.

Exceptional Hammer (Medal)

The Exceptional Hammer (Medal) drops from the First Adversary (Extreme). At the time of writing, there are no listings in the Auction House.

Exceptional Hammer (Earrings)

The Exceptional Hammer (Earrings) drops from Kaling (Extreme), though none have reportedly dropped as of the time of writing.

Brilliant Boss accessories are so difficult to obtain that their market prices vary considerably between worlds.

Brilliant Boss Set — Whisper of the Origin

Whisper of the Origin is a ring that drops from Limbo (Hard) and is trading for around 77–100 billion mesos at the time of writing.

Brilliant Boss Set — Immortal Legacy

Immortal Legacy is a medal that drops from the First Adversary (Hard/Extreme) and is trading for around 96–105 billion mesos at the time of writing.

Brilliant Boss Set — 황홀한 악몽

황홀한 악몽 is a ring that drops from 찬란한 흉성 (Hard) and is trading for around 79–90 billion mesos at the time of writing.

Brilliant Boss Set — 죽음의 맹세

죽음의 맹세 is a pendant that drops from 발드릭스 (Hard) and is trading for around 135–155 billion mesos at the time of writing.

Brilliant Boss Set — 오만의 원죄

오만의 원죄 is a face accessory that drops from 유피테르 (Hard), though none have reportedly dropped as of the time of writing. 유피테르 was released on February 12.

Special Skill Rings: Ring of Restraint / Continuous Ring

Special skill rings come from ring boxes dropped by bosses. The recent update allowing them to be equipped together has made the Ring of Restraint and Continuous Ring more important, driving up their prices. At the time of writing, their level 4 versions are trading for around 5.3 billion mesos and 4.0 billion mesos, respectively.

The grade of the ring box depends on the boss difficulty, and the odds vary by box. Since the level 4 versions of these two rings are the sought-after drops, I’ve left out the Green Jade Boss Ring Box, which only provides rings up to level 3. Here are the chances of obtaining these rings from the remaining boxes:
