In this post, I want to talk about a piece of MapleLand gear that most people seem to have, but I sadly don’t…

MapleLand equipment.

In MapleLand, Every Single Stat Matters

In MapleLand, there are only a few ways for your character to get stronger:

stat gains from leveling up,

high-stat gear dropped from monsters (aka. 상옵),

and 10%, 60%, and 100% scrolls.

Because of that, players naturally prefer gear with even slightly better stats, so tiny differences like +1 and -1 can noticeably affect both an item’s price and your hunting efficiency.

High Difficulty, High Rewards.. So What’s the Must-Have?

It’s almost common knowledge that the stronger the monster you hunt, the better the rewards tend to be.

Among them, the first raid boss monster to appear in MapleLand—and the one giving players a hard time—is

Zakum.

With a staggering combined HP total of nearly 500 million, a wide variety of nonstop attack patterns,

and even the thrill of getting your HP shredded in an instant and hovering on the edge of death..

it’s one of those monsters that definitely isn’t easy, demanding both patience and damage.

On top of that, just getting to Zakum means going through

the Stage 1 quest, where you travel around the Dead Mine collecting Fire Ore.

Then there’s the Stage 2 quest, where you push through sigh-inducing obstacles to obtain Breath of Volcano.

And there’s also the Stage 3 quest, where all the materials are refined, using 30 Zombie’s Lost Gold Teeth along with the other required materials.

Since there’s even a prerequisite quest to refine everything into Eye of Fire,

this is the kind of monster that’s hard to even see in person.

Still, if you put in all that time and effort and manage to defeat Zakum,

you can earn a very appealing reward,

and that reward is none other than Zakum Helmet, one of MapleLand’s essential pieces of gear.

Zakum Helmet?!

The Zakum Helmet is a level 50 armor item that goes in the hat (helmet) slot,

and it comes with incredible stats: All Stats +15, DEF +150, Accuracy and Avoidability +20,

plus an impressive 10 upgrade slots.

No matter your class, it gives you a huge +15 to both your main stat and secondary stat,

it has far better defense than standard level 100 armor,

and it boosts Accuracy in one shot (especially for warriors, who are probably tearing up),

and so on..

It outclasses ordinary helmet items so thoroughly that they’re barely worth comparing,

which is why it’s considered the endgame standard for helmets and one of MapleLand’s must-have items.

I Want One.. Zakum Helmet..!

So even though it’s an item that most people seem to have.. I’m one of the few who still doesn’t..! Zakum Helmet..!

Zakum Helmet has always felt like a symbol of the strength I admired,

and since it’s also a piece of equipment with genuinely powerful stats,

there are plenty of items I’d like to have, but this is the one I want most.

Especially because I’m raising a warrior character with Hero potential,

it feels even more essential since it’s basically the perfect answer for covering my lack of Accuracy.

Of course, since the Zakum Helmet is untradeable, people usually get it by joining a party as what’s called a “guest”

and effectively purchasing it indirectly that way,

but personally, my goal is to defeat Zakum myself and earn it directly, so

I’m training hard right now.

For now, I’m wearing a Maple Hat that I got from an event, but the value for money is excellent..!

And while hunting Wolf Spiders, which are at least relatively easy to grind,

I’m steadily leveling up so that one day I can make it to Zakum.

I just hope I can fulfill the dream of swinging my sword around with 4th job skills and carving Zakum up..
