The new Male Fighter classes, Striker and Street Fighter, arrive in DNF Mobile on Thursday, April 23.

Pre-registration is now open ahead of the launch, and the developer notes have also given us a first look at the Ranma collaboration avatars.

Let’s take a quick look at what’s coming.

Male Fighter Pre-Registration

You can pre-register for the Male Fighter in-game; there is no separate webpage.

The rewards include an SD Male Fighter Creature and the Man of Class title. These are less about special stats and more about showing that you played the class from launch. If you plan to start leveling a Male Fighter on day one, they are worth picking up.

Ranma Collaboration Avatars

The Ranma 1/2 collaboration also begins on April 23, alongside the new classes.

Some of you may have watched the original series years ago. The remake is now available through Season 2 on Netflix, so if you have not seen it yet, watching it alongside the collaboration could be a nice way to catch up.

Today’s developer notes also offered a preview of the Ranma collaboration avatars. What stood out first was that every class is getting avatars, including the Male Fighter.

There are some interesting character pairings, too. Ranma Saotome avatars are coming for the Male Slayer and Male Fighter, Akane Tendo for the Female Priest, Shampoo for the Female Fighter and Female Mage, and Ryoga Hibiki for the Male Mage.

One detail that stands out is that Ranma’s female form will be a hidden avatar for the Male Slayer, while Genma’s panda form will be a hidden avatar for the Male Priest.

It brings to mind the Fate/stay night collaboration in PC DNF, when the Male Slayer could transform into Saber. For DNF Mobile, though, this will be the first transformation into a female character.

The gender change fits the original story’s premise, and the community has been praising it as a fitting choice.

The animal forms of Shampoo, Mousse, and P-chan (Ryoga) will appear as Creatures.

Events celebrating the collaboration include the Martial Arts Coin Festival, Legendary Training Grounds, Mini Check-In, and Mysterious Spring. If these turn out to be minigames and missions based on episodes and settings from the original series, they could be fun to see in action.

Black Day Event

Meanwhile, the Black Day event has started a little early in-game.

Black Day falls on April 14 and is known as a day when people who did not receive gifts on Valentine’s Day or White Day eat jajangmyeon. Of course, plenty of people take part simply because they feel like having some.

DNF Mobile is bringing back 4 previously released avatars: 짜장이 for the Female Mage, 짜퐈게리 장인 for the Male Priest, 귀귀바 for the Male Slayer, and 도도콘 for the Thief.

Before maintenance on April 23, you can head into dungeons and find the Black Delivery Worker for a serving of jajangmyeon, then choose 1 of the 4 Black Day avatars as a reward.

The Female Mage avatar has a fun detail: her jajangmyeon spills when she falls over.

You can get one for free this way, and if you want more, you can buy additional avatars with Terra in the shop. Their return should be a welcome opportunity for new and returning players.

Wrapping Up

Photos circulating in the community suggest that a 땅스부대찌개 collaboration may also be in the works. There is no official confirmation yet, so we will need to wait and see whether it goes ahead.
