With that in mind, this post covers MapleStory’s long-running Explorer Medal quest. At present, it can only be completed in regions within Maple World, and the rewards are medals and artifact points. If you use the Premium Teleport World Map feature, the whole process becomes much faster.

How the Explorer Medal quest works and what to keep in mind

This regional Explorer quest starts automatically as soon as you enter the relevant area, so there is no need to accept it separately, and once all conditions have been met, you complete it by speaking with the NPC Dalia in town.

The main thing to note is that there is no separate way to check which maps you have already visited. Other than the message that appears the first time you enter a map, there is no record you can review afterward. For this medal quest, you can only check how many areas have been registered.

Because of that, it is best to set aside time and clear each one in a single session whenever possible, since stopping partway through means you will have to start again from the beginning.

Essential preparation for collecting the Explorer medals

Exploring each map manually at least once is certainly a good way to do it, but if you are concerned with efficiency, you should absolutely make sure the Premium Teleport World Map feature on the world map is active.

When that feature is active, you can teleport once every 10 seconds, so in terms of convenience it is on a completely different level from the normal 5-minute interval.

You can access it through Daily Gift or MVP benefits, and if neither applies, it is available for 500 Maple Points per day.

Medal list and rewards

As mentioned above, the rewards are a medal for each region and Special Artifact Points. The full list is as follows.

• Novice Explorer: Explore the Victoria Island region: 500 EXP

• Sleepywood Explorer: Explore the Sleepywood region: 500 EXP

• Victoria Explorer: Obtain the two medals above: 1000 EXP

• Mu Lung Dojo Explorer: Explore the Mu Lung & Herb Town regions: 500 EXP

• Minar Forest Explorer: Explore the Leafre region: 500 EXP

• Ossyria Explorer: Obtain the six medals above: 1000 EXP

• Maple Explorer: Obtain the Victoria Explorer and Ossyria Explorer medals: 1000 EXP

• One Who Has Stood at the Peak: Visit 5 locations: 500 EXP

The medal stats themselves are not especially useful, but since appearance settings can now be applied separately, you can still equip them for looks if you like their design, and if you complete the entire set, you can earn a total of 7500 EXP in artifact experience.

[Novice Explorer]: Explore 20 areas on Victoria Island

You can obtain the Novice Explorer medal by visiting 20 areas on Victoria Island.

The areas you need to visit are the ones marked with arrows on each map. Strictly speaking, you do not need to know every area name as long as you follow the marked locations on the world map, but when viewed together the map names have their own charm, so I included them here as an extra.

From the point after Sleepywood Town onward, the route is laid out in a straight line all the way to the end.

[Victoria Explorer]: Obtain both Victoria Island exploration medals

[El Nath Mountains Explorer]: Explore 10 areas in the El Nath Mountains

You can obtain the El Nath Mountains Explorer medal by visiting 10 areas across Orbis and El Nath. There are 7 areas in Orbis and 3 in El Nath.

That breaks down to 7 areas in Orbis and 3 in El Nath.

You can obtain the Ludus Lake Explorer medal by visiting 10 areas in Ludus Lake. Of those, 8 are in Ludibrium, 1 is in the Clocktower Bottom Floor, and 1 is in Fantasy Theme Park.

You can reach the Hidden Tower through the hidden portal on the 4th floor.

You can move to Goblin Forest 2 through the hidden portal in Goblin Forest.

To enter the secret passage connecting Zenumist and Alcadno, you need to progress the Magatia questline to roughly the middle. You only need to go as far as the quest where you receive the password from Powen, so it should take about 10 minutes.

[One Who Has Stood at the Peak Medal]: Visit the five locations below

The One Who Has Stood at the Peak medal is obtained separately from the conditions above by reaching the locations listed here. As the medal name suggests, all of them are elevated spots.

• Kerning City: On top of the crane in the upper-left part of the map

• Perion: Next to Manji in the upper-right part of the map

• Ellinia: Next to the small tree stump at the Top of the Rising Tree

• Nautilus: On top of the pelican’s beak in the upper-right part of town

• Orbis Tower: To the right of the goddess statue at the entrance
