A summary of the various features of MapleStory’s Dimensional Library and the rewards you can obtain #블랙데이
마빡도로시

Hello.
This time, the keyword is Black Day, so I wanted to put together a post about in-game content that you can enjoy on your own.
MapleStory has a story-focused piece of solo content called the Library of Dimensions. Players who really enjoy the story will naturally already know it well, but if you are the kind of person who only looks up the parts that interest you, as I often do, or if you are not especially invested in the story side of the game, this is honestly a place many people never end up visiting at all.
Because of that, quite a few players do not know what rewards you can get here in the first place, and even aside from the rewards, it is still somewhere worth visiting at least once, so I gathered the related details and organized them here.
What Is the Library of Dimensions

The Library of Dimensions is an area you can currently access through the Dimensional Mirror or through the Special Content tab in the Maple Guide, and you can think of it as a place where various story-related parts of MapleStory are gathered together.

This is fairly old content that first appeared in 2013. When it was first introduced, it only had the function of letting players experience behind-the-scenes parts of the existing story, but it was later expanded, various features were added, and related patches have continued to come in consistently with each update.

Now, unlike the single-floor version shown above, its overall scale has become much larger, and you can check a wide range of story-related records through the different NPCs.
Archive

The Archive, located on the right side of the second floor, is where you can browse book-related items from MapleStory.

Here, you can check books that appear throughout different quests, including many that players may not even know exist, since it is realistically difficult to go through every quest one by one yourself.

For example, there is Rakeris’s Accident Notebook related to the Kerning City Party Quest,

and there are also books containing town-by-town recipes from Maple World, along with books on many other topics. Some of the entries include the following.
-
Aria’s Diary
-
Meso Ranger Employment Guide
-
A Holiday in Kritias: Kritias Travel Guide
-
Alleria’s Journal
-
Ephenia’s Letter
-
The Book of Frozen Ice
-
The Legend of Seiram
-
Victoria Island Fairy Tale Collection
-
The Snail Legend
Dimensional Music Box

The Dimensional Music Box, located on the right side of the first floor of the Library of Dimensions, lets you click it to change the BGM.

The available list is as follows.
Maple Chronicle: Book of the Beginning / Book of Arcane River / Book of Grandis

The Maple Chronicle, located in the center of the first floor of the Library of Dimensions, is a feature that lets you rewatch story quests for regions and jobs that have completion records.

When you click a book, a UI like the one above opens, and you can choose either the full version or the summary to view the corresponding story.

For jobs, you need a story clear record, and if that clear was not reflected afterward, you will need to refresh your achievements. This feature is also being expanded with each update, so if there is a character not currently supported, there is a good chance it may be added in a later patch.

The Book of Commanders, located on the far left, lets you view the past stories of the Black Mage’s Commanders—Von Leon, Hilla, Will, Arkarium, Orchid, and Lotus—and it can be viewed without any special prerequisites.

Maple Behind: Book of Forgotten History

The Book of Forgotten History, located at the very center of the Library of Dimensions, is a feature that has been there since the Library of Dimensions was first released, and it lets you experience each story by taking the role of its protagonist. There are currently 7 episodes in total.
Among these, the episodes most commonly praised by players are Episode 1, which features the White Mage, Episode 4, which features Ryude and Alicia, and Episode 6, which features Dunkel and his subordinates. Those episodes stand out for their memorable story and presentation in several ways, so if you do not feel like playing through them yourself, it may still be worth looking up related posts or videos at least once. Personally, I also liked Episode 7, which features Gerand Darmoor.
Clearing each episode rewards cosmetic items such as medals and chairs. The official description and clear rewards for each episode are as follows.

-
This episode was later adapted into the webtoon serialized under the name 검은 마법사 Origin.

This episode is also known for its popular BGM.

Along with Asharoid, you also receive a Lithium Heart. Recently, the event trend seems to have shifted toward giving out an event Android and a Lithium Heart early on, but if you happen to need one later, this is where you can obtain it.
Thank you for reading.
