MapleLand 메랜 Perion Rumor Investigation Quest Guide (Stumpy-related quest)
게임하늘

Hello, this is Game Sky.
MapleLand was recently updated with field bosses, so there’s quite a bit to look forward to. And when you think of Perion’s field boss, Stumpy is probably the first one that comes to mind. Today, we’ll be looking at Winston’s quest, The Truth Behind the Rumor.
So, let’s get started.

Winston asks the player if they’ve ever heard rumors about a tree ghost living in Perion. The player, in turn, asks where in the world a ghost like that would even exist.

He says he doesn’t really believe the rumor either, but if it turns out to be true, it could be useful for his research. He’s tried asking the people of Perion for information, but they apparently refuse to talk.

That’s why he asks for the player’s help. Since the player has already helped the people of Perion before, Winston assumes they’re close enough to gather some information. So he asks the player to head to Perion and ask around. Naturally, the player seems curious too—very fitting for an adventurer.

In any case, he says the people to ask are Dances with Balrog, Iyan, Manji, and Dances with Balrog. He also asks you to speak with the botanist Betty in Ellinia, since she might know something as well.

When you ask Iyan, she says that Camila from Henesys once saw the ghost while out running an errand for her mother.

She says the tree’s eyes looked like they were about to devour Camila. Camila was so frightened that she fainted on the spot. Camila is safe, but the people of Perion are now too scared to leave the village.

According to Dances with Balrog, his father used to tell him stories about it when he was young. Even so, he says he still doesn’t know whether the rumor is true.

Manji says he’s never heard the rumor about the ghost tree, but he is worried because mysterious attacks have been happening more often on the eastern rocky mountain.

When asked, the Warrior Job Instructor Dances with Balrog seems like he knows something. He calls the ghost tree Stumpy.

According to the story, it was once a very old tree from the days when Perion was still a green forest. But after seeing humans destroy the woods, it became enraged and eventually turned into a monster. He warns the player to be careful, since it is the king of the Stumps.

Betty in Ellinia says that, aside from the worrying fact that the Ellinia forest near the border with Perion is rapidly drying out, she still hasn’t found anything else.

After returning, the player shares all the information they gathered with Winston, and Winston finally learns about the tree monster Stumpy.

Today, we went over The Truth Behind the Rumor. It looks like Stumpy’s story will probably continue in the next quest. There’s no reward, but I still liked this one because the story and overall narrative are quite good.
This has been Game Sky. Thank you!
