On April 1, April Fools’ Day, some special guests made a surprise appearance in Seria’s room in DNF Mobile. Normally, you’d find Seria there, but for the day, 옥리아 (Executive Director 옥성태) and 민리아 (Content Director 고민용) took her place.

The event menu brought up a 404 error screen—the kind you often see when something goes wrong online. The message said Seria couldn’t be found, but someone completely unexpected had turned up instead.

Naturally, world chat was suddenly flooded with “404” messages. Good for a bit of a nerdy chuckle.

For April Fools’ gifts, last year we got 2nd Awakening 8-bit hat avatars, while this year we received Fatigue Recovery Potions.

How is this actually real?

Honestly, the event that started the next day felt more like an April Fools’ joke to me than anything on the day itself.

​

That’s when the Assemble Festival kicked off, bringing various Nexon games together to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Nexus: The Kingdom of the Winds. And with it, DNF Mobile released the “I’m a Baldy” Avatar Box.

For context, “I’m a Baldy” refers to a fairly famous incident—and the screenshot and meme that came out of it.

In Nexus: The Kingdom of the Winds, dying meant dropping all your items on the spot, then having to make your way back to pick them up.

​

Other players couldn’t grab them right away—the game would say that the warmth of the deceased still lingered—but wait long enough, and those items were fair game.

​

So it was common to see someone waiting around all day to grab the loot, with its original owner standing beside them, desperately asking them to move.

​

That’s exactly what’s happening in this screenshot.

The player standing on the items tells the owner to walk around them 20 times and shout “I’m a baldy” 20 times. And there’s the owner, walking around beside them, calling out “I’m a baldy.”

​

The character was actually bald, too, which made the whole situation so funny that people still talk about it today.

​

I wonder if that bald player ever imagined they’d get an avatar based on them someday.

The set includes a gray underwear top and bottom matching the underclothes in Nexus: The Kingdom of the Winds, plus a bald head avatar.

Gray underwear avatars and bald head pieces are both firsts for the game, so they open up plenty of outfit options. The bald head even sparkles every so often, which is a highlight in itself. Change the skin color too, as shown on the Male Mage, and you’ve got a full-on alien look.

How to Get the Coupons

You have until May 13 to visit the official Nexus: The Kingdom of the Winds website (here) and enter the congratulatory message twice in a row to receive gift coupons. Make sure you include the period at the end, too. There are a whopping 23 different coupons in total, one for each game.

To redeem a DNF Mobile coupon, open the in-game settings, go to the Personal Information tab, and press the Enter Coupon button.

The rewards include 200 Remy’s Touches, 50 Warlord’s Cry Potions, and 30 Life Tokens.

I’ve needed plenty of potions for raids lately, so the timing works out nicely. They don’t expire, either, so you might as well claim them now and save them for when you really need them.
