Playing a game regularly often means settling into a daily login routine. That is especially true of RPGs.

I returned to MapleStory after a long break when the Challengers server opened and an event offering a vac pet began. Here is a rundown of the essential tasks that have since become part of my routine!

Daily Routine, Step One: Check the Event List

In the Mascot Parade event, you can check in simply by clicking the Participate button after logging in and claim your reward right away. The event also drew attention for its final check-in reward: a permanent vac pet!

Jin's Mysterious Garden works similarly. Checking in gives you dice, which you can roll to earn Growth Fertilizer. You can then use that fertilizer to obtain items that help you build your Legion or progress with your main character.

Step Two: Complete Arcane River and Grandis Dailies

Of all the quality-of-life updates in MapleStory, my favorite is the Scheduler system. It lets you accept daily quests for both Arcane River and Grandis at once, which makes this part of the routine especially convenient!

I mainly use the recently added Lucid Burning to hunt in Grandis areas where I cannot defeat monsters in one hit. I am also leveling a Bowmaster, one of the easier classes to hunt with, so I use my Bowmaster in Arcane River.

Final Step: Wrap Up the Routine!

Just as a cooldown is an important part of exercising, it matters how you wrap up your daily tasks. I am still leveling up, and Monster Park becomes more efficient at higher levels, so I save it for last. That way, if I unlock a higher-level dungeon while doing my dailies, I can clear it afterward.

Once I have finished everything from dailies to Monster Park, I claim my rewards from Weekly Missions, the Frontier Pass, Challengers World, Daily Gift, and Daily Missions. That completes my daily routine!

The chance to get a vac pet from this event has brought many players back, myself included. Thanks to the quality-of-life updates, MapleStory now feels like an RPG that is easy for new players to get started with, too!
