Today, we'll take a look at MapleStory's Artifact system and the Beginner Explorer mission.

When you play MapleStory, there comes a point when upgrading your equipment starts to feel too expensive.

That's the perfect time to try another way to boost your stats!!

Enter the Artifact system!!

Let's take a closer look at Artifacts!!

Artifact Missions (Normal, Boss)

The Artifact system lets you level up gradually just by playing the game.

There are 3 types of Artifact missions.

Normal missions and weekly missions offer rewards each week. Their progress also resets weekly, so you can keep making steady gains every week.

Normal missions involve logging in & hunting monsters.

You can complete all of them every week.

Boss missions reward you for the 3 bosses that give the most EXP out of all the bosses you've defeated that week.

It doesn't matter whether you defeat bosses worth less EXP first or start with those worth more—your rewards are always based on the top 3.

Just keep defeating bosses, and the system will sort out the rewards for you.

Artifact Missions (Special)

You can earn each of these rewards only once.

Some of these missions are quite challenging, but others are relatively easy.

Today, we'll tackle one of the easier ones: the “Beginner Explorer” mission.

Beginner Explorer Mission

This Special mission requires you to earn the “Beginner Explorer” medal through a medal quest.

Here's what the Beginner Explorer mission involves:

Explore 20 designated locations in Maple World.

Use the map to find and visit these 20 locations.

For Ellinel, head to the Ellinel Lobby.

For Gold Beach, visit the Gold Beach Resort.

So, are you done after that?

Not quite!

To collect your Beginner Explorer medal, you'll need to find Dalair.

He's in almost every town, but tracking him down can be surprisingly tricky and a bit of a hassle.

For an easy place to find him, head to Sleepywood!!

Go to the right side of Sleepywood, and bam! There he is.

Once you've collected your medal, open your Artifact missions again.

You should see a red n on the Special tab.

Open the Special menu to claim your EXP as shown here!!

The Explorer mission is easy to complete as long as you have a Teleport Rock.
