Mabinogi Mobile has one mount that pretty much everyone knows.

Its name is Spotty, the first horse to run alongside every adventurer.

If you ride a mount through interaction, it boosts the adventurer's movement speed,

so it's basically a constant animal companion you always have by your side.

And recently, a quest was added that finally lets Spotty retire again:

Goodbye, Spotty!

An Adventurer's Friend, Spotty

When you first start Mabinogi Mobile,

Spotty is the first mount Lasa calls over for you.

That’s how every adventurer in Erinn

sets off on their journey with Spotty.

It does kind of feel like a retired horse got dragged back into service after some time off,

but Spotty was originally a horse used for riding lessons,

and horses do like to run,

so maybe it works out for everyone.

Goodbye, Spotty!

You can take the Goodbye, Spotty quest once you own another mount,

and it’s a quest where you return Spotty to Lasa.

You craft a variety of gifts for Spotty,

including horseshoes, oil, and even a brush.

At the end, you head up the mountain with Spotty

and look out over the scenery, taking a quiet moment to reflect on your memories together, but then...

some crooks suddenly show up, looking to profit off the horse,

but in the past year, the adventurer has grown enough

to beat up villains with their bare hands.

So Spotty’s retirement ceremony goes ahead,

and with one last look at Spotty happily running off after rejoining the school,

Spotty’s time in Mabinogi Mobile comes to an end.

If you think of it as just a mount, it almost doesn’t seem like a big deal,

but it still felt sad to send off a friend who had been with me through a year of adventure.

Sure, I’d mostly left Spotty sitting in one corner of my bag,

but even so, it was a genuinely touching quest.
