Forest of Patience Stages 1–2 Guide — perfect for when that spring drowsiness starts creeping in!

Hello to all my fellow Nexon game fans,
I’m Jaepamin!
I’m writing this while seriously fighting sleep right now. I had a burger combo for lunch, and now I’m all sluggish and drowsy. In moments like this, there’s one MapleStory activity that’s weirdly perfect: the Forest of Patience.
In the Forest of Patience, double jump and skills are disabled, so you can only walk and do normal jumps. One mistake can send you straight back to the very bottom, so yeah... it’s pretty thrilling. If you want to wake yourself up or sharpen your focus, try it with this guide by your side!
Note!) You may also wake up midway through purely out of frustration.
First, let me show you how to get to the MapleStory Forest of Patience map. Pick up the quest from NPC Hersha in Ellinia.
After accepting the quest, head to NPC Shane at the bottom left and pay 25,300 mesos to enter the map. But really, why 25,300? What’s that extra 300 even for?

There are two things you should check before starting the Forest of Patience.
First, take off any cosmetic items and pets your character has equipped. If jump effects pop up and cover part of the screen, they can make clearing it a lot harder.

You should also do this in a channel without other players so you don’t get interrupted, so check the map first. If you’re ready, I’ll go over the route and some helpful tips for reaching the top of Stage 2, which is the quest completion requirement.

In the early part of Forest of Patience Stage 1, you’ll need to choose whether to climb on the left or right side. Check where the missing platforms are in the middle, then move based on that.
If you look closely at the platforms, they’re tied with ropes, and if you jump from the end of the rope, you can land safely.

Once you get a bit higher, you’ll reach a section where monkey monsters throw bananas. Wait calmly until they throw the obstacle, then move past it, and once you click the portal, Stage 1 is done.
Up to this point, it’s easy. Stage 2 is where the real suffering begins.
MapleStory Forest of Patience Stage 2 has sections with monsters, spears, and tree branches. There are monsters throwing items on each rope, and if you get hit by a branch or spear, your character gets knocked back. It’s incredibly annoying.
In the first rope section blocked by monsters, unlike Stage 1, there are two of them waiting, so the timing is much harder to read.
Hold the right and up arrow keys together, then press and hold the jump key, and your character can keep climbing while taking hits without getting knocked back. It’s a super useful little trick, so definitely learn it.

The second spear that appears in Forest of Patience Stage 2 will push your character to the right when it hits, no matter which direction you’re facing.
You can use that to your advantage by intentionally colliding with the obstacle while moving right to get across more safely.
The spears that fall from above inflict stun when they hit, so if you’re unlucky, you’ll have to start over.

If you make it through safely, a hard-to-see tree branch route will appear. Move slowly until you take damage, and when your character gets knocked back, jump over it.

In the final section, climb the rope, step on the platform with the monster, then move left. If you’ve made it this far, there’s a big box set up here, so the odds of falling all the way to the bottom are pretty low. Just take your time.
If you make it this far, that’s Stage 2 of the Forest of Patience cleared! It’s great for waking yourself up and boosting your focus, so I do it once in a while. If that post-lunch sleepiness starts hitting, give it a try too :)
