When you're busy leveling up your character in an MMORPG, it's nice to have a little lighthearted fun along the way. Today, let me show you one place to find it: NPC dialogue.

Maple veterans probably know about this already, but for Maple newbies, it could be a fun change of pace!

Off to Gold Beach for some fun!

I headed back to Gold Beach for the first time in a while to share some funny screenshots.

Gold Beach is a theme dungeon added in 2012, and its story has you taking on the Black Slimes wreaking havoc on the beach's ecosystem. With a fun story and plenty of EXP on offer, it used to be a popular training spot.

These days, though, the go-to routes for fast leveling have changed, and Tera Blink can take you straight to level 200, so Gold Beach isn't as popular anymore. It's a bit of a shame.

Anyway, as you work your way through the quests, the NPC 케리 asks you to go see “Benjamin.” This is where you'll start running into the Black Slimes causing trouble around Gold Beach.

Head all the way to the right, and you'll find Benjamin, who's having quite a headache dealing with the Black Slimes. Help him out with his requests and talk to him again, and he'll ask for something rather out of the blue(?).

Suddenly, he tells you he's lost the wedding ring for his fiancée, Lois, and asks you to find it. Well, sure, I can do that, but what does it have to do with Gold Beach?

Back when I was a Maple newbie, curiosity got the better of me, so I clicked the decline button. And then...

“Please, I beg you to help me.”

He even adds that plea to his request. 😂 Something about how solemnly he asked made me laugh.

He used to sound even more desperate, but it looks like his dialogue has been patched to a more composed version now. If I remember correctly, he used to say, “Please!!!”

Bonus) Bonnie

There's also an NPC I'd love to see more interactions with. Her name is Bonnie, and she's in the Nautilus, where she's been plugging a leak all by herself since 2007, right up to this day.

Counting the calendar years, that's 19 years of holding back the water all on her own. There are plenty of other NPCs around, so leaving her to it seems awfully cold of them. She keeps asking for help, and I hope we get a quest to do something about it.
