It's been a while since our last Mapleland quest walkthrough. Today, we'll be covering the God of Mountains' Gold Axe, Silver Axe quest in Korean Folk Town. You're probably familiar with this fairy tale, so let's see how it plays out in Mapleland.

God of Mountains

The God of Mountains has suddenly ended up with a bump on his head. You ask him to explain what happened.

He explains that an axe fell into the pond a few days ago and hit him. He was so angry that he threw it out of the pond, but a woodcutter came by a little while ago, loudly demanding it back. The woodcutter even turned down his offer of a gold or silver axe. He's being a little wiser than necessary here.

The God of Mountains promised to find the lost axe, but he hasn't had any luck, no matter where he looks. There are monsters nearby with axes stuck in their heads, though, so he suspects one of them took it. He asks you to help him find it.

Your objective is to defeat Dark Axe Stumps and find the Woodcutter's Iron Axe.

How to Obtain the Woodcutter's Iron Axe

Getting the Woodcutter's Iron Axe is straightforward. Defeat Dark Axe Stumps to collect an item called Axe, then speak to the God of Mountains to check whether it's the Woodcutter's Iron Axe.

Once you've collected an axe and the God of Mountains has confirmed that it's the Woodcutter's Iron Axe, you're 99% of the way through the quest. With the Woodcutter's Iron Axe in hand, head over to the Woodcutter.

Woodcutter

You'll find the Woodcutter in the upper-right corner of Tiger Forest 2. Speak to him when you arrive.

The Woodcutter tells you that the axe looks like the one he lost.

After taking a closer look, he confirms that it's his missing axe. He explains that it slipped out of his hands while he was working and fell into the pond, only for the God of Mountains to toss it away somewhere. The God of Mountains had promised to find it, but the Woodcutter was still quite worried. He thanks you for tracking it down. In the end, the whole incident was a misunderstanding between the two.

Rewards

Complete the quest, and he'll give you a book. You'll receive 1 Gold Axe, Silver Axe storybook and 14,000 EXP. That's another storybook collected.

The Woodcutter had been struggling without his trusty axe. With it returned, the quest comes to an end.

Wrapping Up

That covers another storybook quest. Since we've picked up another book, it presumably has something to do with Wiz the Librarian as well. Korean Folk Town has plenty of fairy tale quests, which makes it a surprisingly interesting place.
