This time, the keyword is pilgrimage, and the focus is on introducing places in the game that carry special meaning.

When you think of truly meaningful places in MapleStory, it is hard not to start with the maple tree on Maple Island, where everything begins. There are, of course, countless other personal landmarks filled with each player's own memories as well, but in this post I put together the places and characters that are officially treated that way through the newly added World Archive's Arcane River Special Investigation Records.

Since these are the locations and NPCs considered the most important in each region's story, they carry quite a bit of weight. The Limen Special Investigation Record in particular is especially striking, so even if you are not planning to register it yourself, I thought it was worth bringing here just to take a look at once.

World Archive: Arcane River

The Arcane River investigation records added in this March update are the first new set since Victoria Island in last October's patch, and registering everything fills out a total of 233 entries. The weakest monster is Joyful Erdas, while the strongest is the Black Mage.

A 1500 collection reward was also added to match the Arcane River theme, and the equipped appearance is shown above.

Vanishing Journey Special Investigation Record, and what is a Special Investigation Record?

Location: Vanishing Journey - Water Mist Falls

Character: Someone's Clothes

Keyword: No matter what, we will definitely make our dream come true.

Since this Special Investigation Record system itself may be unfamiliar to some people, I will briefly go over it here before moving on.

As you can see in the investigation record for Someone's Clothes, some parts of the text are highlighted in bold for emphasis. If you enter that text into the chat window while standing next to the relevant NPC, the Special Investigation Record will be registered as shown above.

You can view this through the bookmark at the bottom of that NPC's World Archive entry, and it is made up of either a single illustration or an illustration plus an additional episode. It is not counted separately toward your collection total.

For Arcane River, every one of them works by typing the keyword into the chat window, but Victoria Island also had cases like Alcaster (use Aleria's Elixir next to the NPC) and Neinheart (use an emoticon in the chat window).
