This post's theme is White Day, with a look at White Day and candy-related content in Nexon games.

MapleStory no longer holds White Day events, much like its Valentine's Day events, but they used to be a regular occurrence. Along with a look back at those events, I have gathered some candy-related content worth exploring.

Candy-Themed Items Available Year-Round

The Lollipop, classified as a regular item, has been well known since MapleStory's early days. Its current drop source is unclear, but you can buy one at the Auction House for a modest price.

The Cash Shop offers the Sweet Lollipop, which has the same design in a different color. It costs 4,500 Cash and can also be purchased with Reward Points.

The Cash Shop also offers lollipops shaped like long canes. These cost 4,000 Cash each and can also be purchased with Reward Points.

These packages cost 4,900 Cash each and are described as star candy T-shirts. They come in Blueberry and Raspberry varieties. As packages, they cannot be purchased with Reward Points.

Searching for candy in the Cash Shop brings up other candy-shaped items as well, but these are pet food, so your character cannot use them directly.

Past White Day Events

MapleStory's past White Day events offered candy-themed rewards, but they also emphasized love, with a particular focus on the marriage system. These days, many players may not even know the marriage and vow renewal systems exist, let alone consider them important. It was interesting to see how much attention these systems received back then, as though they were a major part of the game's content.

Interestingly, the 2011 White Day event, A Vow Renewal Showered with Love, offered access to the vow renewal system as its reward rather than items.

Apparently, players could use a Vow Renewal Ticket to hold a ceremony 30 or 100 days after their wedding, earning additional commemorative rewards. This event's main feature was letting players hold the ceremony without waiting for those milestones.

The rewards reportedly included a ring, a chair, and a Hyper Teleport Rock that could take you to your partner. I do not know how valuable these rewards were at the time, but from today's perspective, they seem more romantic than practical.

In the 2013 White Day event, players earned points by defeating monsters within their level range and spent those points on items.

Players could obtain glasses and earrings that looked as though they were made of candy, as well as a title.

Along with various other items, the rewards reportedly included Stella weapons, which I had never heard of before writing this post.

The White Day Sweet Gifts event in 2017 offered themed gifts simply for logging in.

Notable login gifts included a candy-themed medal and a Damage Skin Box.

The Damage Skin Box contained candy-themed damage skins as well.

White Day events also frequently featured bundles of marriage-related Cash Shop items like these. This seems to have been part of the love theme mentioned earlier.

The previous year's White Day event used the same gift-giving format, which makes me wonder whether these events were intended as a brief break after the Valentine's Day event.

Unusual Candies Featured in Halloween Events

Meanwhile, Halloween-themed events featured the sort of fantastical candies you would only find in a game. Some care clearly went into their design: when viewed alongside their ingredient items, the descriptions made the candies seem surprisingly plausible. I found that detail interesting and have included them here.
