Today, let’s talk about the charms of Lara, one of the MapleStory jobs.

An adorable, lovable look

Lara is part of the Anima race in Maple World, and one of the signature traits of the Anima race is their animal-like appearance.

If Hoyoung is a white tiger and Ren is a rabbit, then Lara is a sheep.

In the video introducing the new job Lara, Art Director Gu Gyo-seong explained, “Because the concept was a sheep Anima character, it was important to highlight sheep-like features while also showing her bright and cheerful personality. So we expressed her cuteness through big eyes, small horns, and a long, soft, rounded hairstyle. We also used pastel tones that hadn’t been used before, creating a bright and lovely character that feels distinct from the existing jobs.” Lara’s cuteness really comes across so well in the illustration, if you ask me.

First impressions really matter, and when I first saw Lara’s illustration, my immediate reaction was just “She’s cute.”

I think that illustration, drawn with exactly that intention, does a great job of showing people Lara’s charm in such a short amount of time.

And then there’s Lara’s bright, cheerful personality, which completely won over Geuri

I really like that Lara has a bright and cheerful personality that fits her cute appearance so well.

This type of character is usually called a sunshine character, and I’m personally a big fan of sunshine characters.

If someone with this kind of personality is around, even people who tend to see the world pessimistically can end up feeling that positive energy from them.

And little by little, they start to change, and in Lara’s story, Geuri is one of those people.

I really enjoyed watching Geuri change because of Lara ㅎㅎ
