Mabinogi Mobile offers a wide range of content.

Among its endgame activities is

time attack, where the goal is to clear Abyss dungeons as quickly as possible.

Today, I'll cover rune setups for dungeon time attacks

and share my impressions from testing them myself.

Abyss Hell Difficulty

Watch Out for Area Effects

Abyss Hell imposes various restrictions.

Be prepared for a substantial step up in difficulty from Very Hard.

Area effects change periodically,

but elixir restrictions apply across all Hell difficulty levels,

with an additional area effect introduced at Hell 6.

A Guide to Time Attack Rune Setups

The standard best-in-slot rune setups for Mabinogi Mobile Season 1

need some adjustments for Abyss.

This is because certain runes deal additional damage to defenseless targets during break.

Regular mobs are especially easy to break,

so for everything before the final boss room, rather than using general-purpose runes,

temporarily switch to defenseless runes focused on break damage like these,

then change your Memory Imprint before entering the boss room.

The specifics vary by class,

but general-purpose weapon setups use best-in-slot runes such as Sword Dance,

while Celestial Alignment is also a good choice for bosses.

For a weapon setup focused on defenseless damage, use Destroyer.

For armor, Overwhelming Power, Delicate Touch, and Pale Flash (Flickering Flame)

are the three mainstays of most setups and do not need to be swapped out.

Add Crush and Raking Claws specifically for defenseless damage,

along with Earth Tremor for regular mobs, even though it is not a defenseless rune.

For emblems, unless you are a Swordsman with excess critical hit chance,

Distant Light is generally the best choice.

There is no need to swap emblems.

Impressions from Trying Time Attack

My own attempts have only gone as far as Hell 9.

Competing in the Abyss rankings is largely for veteran players,

so with upper-mid-tier combat power, even finishing within the time limit is difficult.

Still, I think it is worth trying at least once.

Setting an Abyss ranking score can be satisfying, even if the score is low.
