Trying my hand at character-themed varsity jacket mockups

Today, I'm designing some varsity jackets themed around MapleStory and DNF characters.

MapleStory's iconic mascot!

Always popping up at all kinds of MapleStory events, so we're going with a Travel Studies major(?)

I went with pink and ivory for the main colors. The idea is that Pink Bean's a freshman starting this year, so I put '26 as the entry year.

Seriously.. this turned out so damn good..

Pink Bean's theme and the whole “travel” thing work so well together.

The “Bean mark” on the left eye is missing, but the overall look is pretty close.

If this design became actual merch, I'd totally buy it and wear it.

An iconic DNF class that worships Usir!!

I went with black and purple, leaning into that cool, mysterious order of knights vibe.

Since she worships death, I figured I'd mash theology and philosophy together and make her a Theology and Philosophy major.

Oh.. this really nails the Dark Templar theme.

The custom emblem with Destroyer and a book really stands out too.

3.MapleStory_Ren

This is my Ren, who I've been busy leveling lately.

Since Ren's main themes are that imugi and the plum blossom sword,

I tried making a version for each.

With that strong traditional East Asian vibe, I went with a “Classical Poetry” major for the jacket.

Personally, I think the red varsity jacket looks a little prettier.

I put the imugi and sword on the back, but this is the kind of design that would look way prettier on a sukajan than a varsity jacket.

For the last design, I went with our queen Mercedes from MapleStory.

Since Mercedes is a queen, Political Science and Diplomacy felt like a fitting major.

I went with Mercedes's green and ivory as the main colors,

and worked a laurel wreath symbolizing royalty and the dual bowguns into a crossed design.

What do you think?

Looks pretty legit, right?

Something about this one feels extra no-nonsense.
