Trying out fake varsity jackets based on character concepts

Today I’m gonna try designing varsity jackets themed around characters from MapleStory and DNF.

MapleStory’s iconic mascot!

Pink Bean shows up at so many MapleStory events, so I figured the major would be Tourism(?).

I used pink and ivory as the main colors, and since the concept is that they’re a freshman this year, I made it Class of ’26.

Seriously.. this came out insanely good..

Pink Bean’s whole vibe and the “travel” theme fit together way too well.

The “Bean mark” on the left eye is missing, but the overall shape still came out pretty close.

If they turned this into actual merch, I’d 100% buy one and wear it.

One of DNF’s signature classes that worships Usir!!

I went with that chic, mysterious knight-order image and built the design around black and purple.

Since she worships death, I designed the department concept as something like a Theology-and-Philosophy major.

Oh.. I think this captures the Dark Templar theme really well.

The custom emblem using a deity and a book is super memorable too.

3.MapleStory_Ren

This is my Ren, the one I’ve been grinding lately.

Ren’s two main themes are that imugi and the plum blossom sword,

so I made both versions.

Since the Eastern aesthetic comes through really strongly, I made this one as a varsity jacket for a “Classical Korean Poetry” major.

Personally, I think the red-based varsity jacket looks a little prettier.

I used the imugi and the sword for the back design, but honestly this pattern feels like it’d look way better as a sukajan than a varsity jacket.

Last up, I tried making a design for Queen Mercedes from MapleStory.

Since Mercedes is a queen, Political Science and Diplomacy felt like the perfect fit.

I used Mercedes’s green and ivory color palette as the main colors,

then crossed a laurel wreath, symbolizing royalty, with dual bowguns.

What do you think?

Looks pretty convincing, right?

It somehow feels extra stern compared to the others.
