I'm back with another Mapleland quest from Korean Folk Town. Today is March 1st Independence Movement Day. This holiday commemorates the historic March 1st Movement of 1919, when people across Korea rose up under Japanese colonial rule, waving Korean flags and calling for Korean independence. It is a deeply meaningful day for Koreans, and one we must never forget. Mapleland is preparing an event for the occasion. We'll take a brief look at the March 1st event before moving on to today's main topic: Kong Ji's Gathering Mugwort quest.

Maple Mailbox

When you log into Mapleland, you'll notice that the Maple Mailbox has appeared. The Maple Administrator says there's a simple quiz and a gift ready for players to commemorate March 1st Independence Movement Day. Since it isn't March 1st yet, though, you're asked to come back then. I'm looking forward to seeing what the reward will be.



Kong Ji

It's been a while since we last saw Kong Ji, and she's as busy as ever. She has a lot of laundry to finish and needs to make mugwort rice cakes, too. But with so much to do, she doesn't have enough time to gather the mugwort.

She asks you for help. Click Accept, and she'll explain that mugwort grows in out-of-the-way corners of the village and up on Black Mountain. She only needs you to gather 12 pieces of mugwort from those areas.

Mugwort Locations

There's plenty of mugwort around the Small Pond. It may be hard to spot at first, but look closely and you can just make it out. The Small Pond is also the nearest place to gather it.

Can you see the tiny mugwort plant down here? Use your basic attack key to hit it 3–4 times. At this stage, your basic attack is usually either unassigned or mapped to a key other than Ctrl.

Attacking the plant will make it drop an item—that's the mugwort you need. You'll have to collect 12 pieces, but the plants don't always drop mugwort. Sometimes, an Orange Potion or a coin will drop instead, and sometimes nothing will drop at all. Keep hitting the mugwort plants around the Small Pond until you have 12 pieces. You may need to wait for the plants to respawn along the way.

Rewards

Once you've collected 12 pieces of mugwort, return to Kong Ji to receive your final reward: 16,000 EXP. The reward is a little modest, so this seems to be a preliminary quest leading into the next one.

Kong Ji thanks you for always helping her. She now has what she needs to make the rice cakes, but she's still flustered, wondering when she'll find the time. That brings the quest to a close.

Wrapping Up
