In this post, we'll look at ways to organize your inventory in Mapleland.

As in most MMORPGs, your inventory steadily fills up as you adventure,

often leaving you unable to pick up any more items.

That's where the art of inventory management comes in, requiring careful choices and efficient decision-making.

Let's explore the features that can help you keep your inventory in order!

💎 Refining Your Stockpile of Ores / Jewel Ores

Mapleland has a wide variety of minerals.

These items are needed for quests and equipment crafting, as well as job advancement quests,

so they have plenty of uses.

However, they tend to accumulate in large quantities

and can become a nuisance by taking up numerous inventory slots.

Since each slot can hold only 100 items,

anything beyond 100 needs another slot.

What can you do about this?

I recommend refining the mineral items you've accumulated.

(Nihal Desert) Ariant - Muhamad

These NPCs can refine your items.

Since each refined mineral requires 10 ores,

a single round of refining can substantially reduce your stockpile of ores.

However, some quests and crafting recipes require items in their ore form,

so rather than refining everything, I recommend keeping roughly a 3 : 7 ratio of ores to refined minerals.

🎁Using a Storage Character

(Using the Delivery System)

Of course, the refined items themselves take up new slots,

leaving you with another inventory management problem.

In this situation, a dedicated storage character (an alt) can be a good option.

Unfortunately, Mapleland does not yet have a storage feature,

so moving items into storage for safekeeping isn't an option.

Instead, you can use the item delivery feature

to keep your items safe.

All you need to send a delivery is the recipient's character name,

so you can transfer 12 items at a time to an alt and use it as mobile storage.

This lets you hold on to your refined minerals

and any other items you'd rather not throw away,

giving your inventory a little more breathing room.

There are drawbacks, though: each delivery costs a base fee of 5,000 mesos,

and you'll also need to manage your storage character's inventory.

Still, this is currently the best alternative to storage,

so we'll have to wait and see what the next update brings.

🗑 Be Decisive About Selling and Discarding Items

Making the most of limited inventory space

also means being willing to discard items you don't use.

Items you keep because you think you might need them someday

can end up gathering dust and getting in the way of your next adventure.

For example:

Consumables you no longer use, various types of arrows (unless you play a Bowman class),

and scrolls you don't need are common culprits when it comes to wasted inventory space.

Don't hesitate to discard them or give them to other players.

Untradeable items used in quests also take up slots.

For these, I recommend asking other players for help

or taking your time to decide carefully what to discard.

Some quests lead to a separate quest that provides a replacement item for the next step,

but if no replacement is available, discarding an item can have serious consequences.

Rather than discarding these items as soon as you receive them, look up information or ask for advice

to check whether they're safe to discard.

For low-level players, I don't recommend holding on to mineral items.

Players just starting their adventures have relatively few inventory slots,

and the variety of quest items they need to collect makes careful inventory management especially important.

At this stage, if an item isn't used in quests or won't be needed until later,

I recommend letting it go rather than holding on to it.

💳Selective Slot Expansion Coupons

Buying slot expansion coupons to increase your inventory space

is a reliable way to make the game more comfortable to play

and lets you pick up items without worrying about available slots.

While this does require spending some real money,

easier character progression in return for greater spending is a longstanding MapleStory tradition.

However, buying slot expansion coupons isn't the only way to get them.

You can also earn them through various limited-time events.

Simply playing regularly during special occasions and seasonal celebrations

can earn you expansion coupons that increase your character's inventory space,

so I recommend keeping up with events and participating whenever you can.

As someone who enjoys keeping and collecting items,

I always find inventory management stressful and challenging,

but I think it also encourages me to find more efficient approaches and make better choices.
