Today, we’ll be covering another MapleLand Lower Town quest guide. Everyone, do you know the folktale Kongji and Patzzi? Kongji, one of the characters from that story, appears as the NPC for this quest. This time, we’ll be taking a look at The Bottomless Jar.

The Bottomless Jar

Kongji says her jar is broken. She needs to fill it with water before sunset, but she still has a mountain of chores left to do. So, she asks the player for help.

If you press Accept, she asks you to go to Grandma Yeoni at the village watermill and bring back a new jar.

She says she heard he had gone out to sea for some fishing.

Grandma Yeoni’s husband can be found at Aqua Road Mushroom Coral Cloud. If you look above, you can spot a boat there.

This is where you can find Grandpa Taegong.

Taegong’s Love for His Wife

Taegong greets you warmly and asks whether you like fishing. He says he enjoys it, but his wife does not care for it very much. Even so, he wants to send her a gift, so he asks for your help.

He says his wife has loved shrimp since she was young, so she would be very happy if you brought her Shrimp Meat.

Since he is on land and cannot catch any himself, he asks you to collect 20 Shrimp Meat and deliver it to Grandma Yeoni.

The monster that drops Shrimp Meat is level 30. It lives in Seaweed Tower. The drop rate is not especially low, so you should be able to gather them without too much trouble. Keep hunting until you have all 20.

When you bring the Shrimp Meat to Grandma Yeoni, she thanks you and says she feels a little sorry for putting you through the trouble. The reward is 6,000 EXP.



She says she knows you need a jar, so she will make one for you specially.

Grandma Yeoni’s Jar

If you talk to her again, the player says they came to buy a jar.

As thanks for bringing the Shrimp Meat earlier, she says she will sell it to you at a special discount.

She says she will give you a new jar for just 5,000 mesos.

Talk to her one more time, and you’ll receive the jar. At this point, the quest is almost done. Let’s head back to Kongji.

Kongji says you’re good at getting along with people and calls it a pretty, sparkling jar. The reward is 15,000 EXP.

She says that before her stepmother arrives, she now needs to carry water and fill the jar, and she thanks you for helping. With that, the quest comes to an end.

Wrapping Up

Today, we looked at The Bottomless Jar. To be honest, this quest feels fairly plain. Even with the travel between Lower Town and Aquarium, the rewards are not especially good. So overall, it comes across as the kind of quest that makes you wonder whether it really needs to be cleared.
