I think coming up with a guild name is just about as hard as picking a game nickname. It matters a lot, too, since it can show off the identity and personality of a whole group, sometimes with dozens of members.

For anyone debating what kind of guild nick to go with, I put together 3 types of guild names I personally use a lot. I hope plenty of you find this helpful—so with that said, let’s jump in. Gogosing!

Place names (ex. Mohyeon-eup, Namwirye)

The first type of guild name is a place name. It’s a great kind of nick when you’ve got neighborhood friends or acquaintances playing together. Even if you don’t already have a friend group, you can still gather people from the same area, which makes it great for building connections.

My own MapleStory guild nick is “Mohyeon-eup,” the hometown of my high school friends. It’s been around for 7 years, so it’s basically a respectable old-school guild in its own way. Hehe.

Anime characters / words with a nice ring to them (ex. Gedo Mazo, Jeti, Uchiha)

The second type of guild name combines anime-related names or words that just sound good. It’s a great kind of nick for bringing together people who share a specific hobby or favorite interest. It also works nicely for a solo-play guild.

Something like Jeti may not have a deep meaning, but guild nicks with a cute sound tend to be popular with soft-type guys and girls, so they’re pretty easy to recruit with. My alt character’s guild nick, Gedo Mazo, is a villain monster from Naruto, and I picked it for solo play because the name sounds strong.

Organization names (ex. OO Club, OO Squad, OO Faction, OO and Kids)

The third type is a more classic, standard guild nick. It’s especially good when you want everyone’s nicknames to match the guild name. Something like OO and Kids is fun to use when you just want to game casually with friends and keep things light.

In Mabinogi Mobile, the guild I’m in is called “Private Club,” and I like it because it feels a little secretive while also giving off that “all the pros are here” vibe.

So, that was a quick look at 3 recommended types of guild names that are easy to use. Like I mentioned earlier, a guild name gives your group its own identity and personality, so I recommend putting a little extra thought into it when you’re looking for one.

I personally like words with a nice ring to them and lowercase English words. I hope you all find a great guild that matches your vibe, too. Thanks for reading!
