The keyword for this post is guild name recommendations, and the goal is to suggest guild names that could work well in games. With that in mind, I gathered and organized some relevant examples.

Before getting started

Since I do not have much of a sense for naming aesthetics, I spent some time thinking about how to recommend guild names in a useful way. What I eventually came up with was to recommend names that had already been proven in practice by looking at guilds that are currently active in MapleStory.

Using the Hall of Fame rock shown above, you can browse guild names from guilds that rank highly in activity. After checking a large enough sample across multiple worlds, I narrowed the list down to words that were not specific to MapleStory itself. Because of that, this post is better used as a reference for games other than MapleStory.

Of course, a guild name alone does not determine how active a guild will be. Still, these names belong to guilds that each have active members in their respective worlds, and since the guild name change system was introduced relatively recently, they can reasonably be viewed as names that players tend to prefer. After narrowing the list to a manageable set, I grouped similar words into categories so you can refer to them as needed.

Appendix: Information related to MapleStory guild names

1) Duplicate names cannot be used within the same world.

2) In some cases, inactive guilds are deleted and their names become available again. Most recently, this happened on December 19, 2024.

3) Guild names can be changed once per week for 59,000 Maple Points.
