Hello.

This post focuses on Lunar New Year gifts, with a look at how Nexon games celebrate the Lunar New Year holiday.

Many games mark this important holiday with Lunar New Year-themed events. MapleStory is no exception, holding seasonal events almost every year.

With that in mind, I have put together a guide to this year's Lunar New Year event, which is open until Sunday, along with a look back at the events held during this season over the past 5 years.

2026 : <Tell Me Your New Year's Wish>

The 2026 Lunar New Year event is <Tell Me Your New Year's Wish>. You can participate once per Maple ID until February 22 at 23:59. To complete the event, read wish letters from residents of Maple World and fulfill their requests. This guide covers the essential steps for quick reference, but if you are not in a hurry, I recommend reading the dialogue as you go.

1) First Letter

Use the Dimensional Mirror in Quick Move to travel to the Grand Athenaeum, then click on the archive.

Once you receive the book, deliver it to Maya at Maya's House in Henesys.

The archive also lets you browse the book items available through quests in MapleStory.

2) Second Letter

After reading the letter, buy a Sprout Potion from a general store. If you have an Android equipped, you can also buy it through the Shop menu in your inventory.

Next, go to the map beside Ellinia and use the Sprout Potion right next to the Talking Tree.

3) Third Letter

After reading the letter, go to the right side of the Elluel map and click on the music box.

Play STAR BUBBLE, the last track on the music box's list, then report to Chief Stan through the event notifier to complete the event.

4) Completion Rewards

5) Hidden Reward

After claiming the chair, speak to Chief Stan to receive the hint shown here.

Then sit in the chair next to Pia and speak to her to claim the final reward.

2025 : <Henesys Yut Tournament>

Chief Stan also hosted the 2025 <Henesys Yut Tournament> event.

Rather than a quiz, this event offered rewards for playing Supernatural Yut and accumulating wins. Your win count was displayed on the chair. I believe some players reached 999 wins, which is impressive given the event's relatively short duration.

In Supernatural Yut, each player starts with a randomly assigned special ability like those shown here. Although luck plays a large role, the game is fairly popular. A previous livestream mentioned that it would be playable in a different format, so it is worth keeping an eye on how it returns.

2024 : None

Unusually, 2024 passed without a Lunar New Year event.

2023 : <Pink Bean's Happy New Year Week>

The 2023 <Pink Bean's Happy New Year Week> event took a slightly different approach, offering progression rewards for defeating monsters within your level range.

Defeating monsters earned you rice cake slices. Giant Moon Bunnies also appeared occasionally and dropped large quantities of rice cake slices when defeated.

The rewards are shown above. Looking back, the value of each reward has changed considerably, even accounting for the quantities of 10 EXP Coupons and 2 Special Medals of Honor.

You could also obtain VIP Buff Coupons repackaged as rice cake items.

2022 : <It's Pink Bean's Lunar New Year Today, Too!>

The 2022 <It's Pink Bean's Lunar New Year Today, Too!> event was a quiz in which you had to find the NPCs described in the lyrics of a children's song sung by Pink Bean.

1) Making new clothes with the big sister who leads the penguins~ : Lilin

2) Taking care of our health for the New Year, too~ : 쿤

3) Even the spoiled little brother is behaving~ : Rony

4) The tall big sister is going out to play, too~ : 지나

5) The shoemaker is taking a breather~ : Gordon

6) The uncle with the ponytail is giving us gifts~ : Shane

7) Wishing the furry elder good health~ : Chief Tatamo

8) Our blue-haired friend says hello, too~ : Kenta

9) The puppy goes woof, woof~ : 봉달이

10) The lady with angel wings has fewer worries~ : Housekeeper Elma

Completing the event earned you magpie-themed outfit items, along with coins for the event running at the time.

2021 : <NEO Supernatural Yut>

There was no separate Lunar New Year event in 2021. Instead, seasonal elements were incorporated into the ongoing event's minigame.

During this period, you could play the Supernatural Yut game shown above and earn Neo Gems to spend in the cosmetic shop.

Thank you for reading.
