As this is a major holiday, many games run a range of Lunar New Year-themed events during this period. MapleStory has also continued to hold related events almost every year.

With that in mind, this post covers this year’s Lunar New Year event, which is available until Sunday, and also looks back at what kind of events were held around this time over the past five years.

2026 : <Tell Me Your New Year’s Wish>

The Lunar New Year event for 2026 is <Tell Me Your New Year’s Wish>, and it can be completed once per Maple ID until February 22 at 23:59. The event involves reading wish letters from Maple World residents and helping fulfill their requests. This post has been organized so you can quickly check the key steps only, but if you are not in a hurry, it is also worth reading through the dialogue one part at a time.

1) First letter

Use the Dimension Mirror in Quick Move to go to the Dimensional Library, then click the Archive.

After receiving the book, deliver it to Maya at Maya’s House in Henesys.

The Archive is also where you can browse book-type items obtained through quests in MapleStory.

2) Second letter

After reading the letter, buy a Sprout Potion from the General Store. If you have an Android equipped, you can also purchase it from the Shop menu in your inventory.

Next, move to the map next to Ellinia and use the Sprout Potion right beside the Talking Tree.

3) Third letter

After reading the letter, go to the right side of the map in Eurel and click the music box.

Play the bottom Star Bubble track in the music box, then report to Chief Stan through the Event Notifier to finish the event.

After receiving the chair, speak with Chief Stan to see a hint like this.

Then sit in the chair next to Pia and speak with her to receive the final reward as well.

2025 : <Henesys Yutnori Tournament>

The 2025 event, <Henesys Yutnori Tournament>, was also hosted by Chief Stan.

However, this one was not a quiz event. Rewards were given based on participation in Superpower Yutnori and the number of wins, and the chair displayed your total wins. Some players seem to have reached as many as 999 wins at the time, which is quite impressive given the relatively short event period.

In Superpower Yutnori, each side starts with one special ability selected at random, like the ones shown here. Luck plays a major role, but it is still a fairly popular game. Since it was previously mentioned on a live broadcast that it could return in a different format, it may be worth keeping an eye on how it might be released in the future.

2024 : None

Quite unusually, 2024 passed without a related event being released.

2023 : <Pink Bean’s Happy New Year Week>

The 2023 event, <Pink Bean’s Happy New Year Week>, took a slightly different approach, offering growth rewards for defeating level-range monsters.

By defeating monsters, you could collect tteokguk rice cake, and the Giant Moon Bunny, which appeared occasionally, dropped a large amount of it.

The rewards were as shown above. Looking back now, even considering that there were 10 EXP Coupons and 2 Special Medals of Honor, it is easy to see how much the value of each reward has changed.

There was also an item that essentially repackaged a VIP Buff Coupon in the form of tteok.

2022 : <Pink Bean Says It’s Lunar New Year Today Too!>

The 2022 event, <Pink Bean Says It’s Lunar New Year Today Too!>, was run as a quiz event. The objective was to find the NPC indicated by the nursery rhyme lyrics sung by Pink Bean.

2) Taking care of your health for the New Year too~ : Kun

3) Even the spoiled younger sibling behaves well~ : Roni

4) The tall older sister goes out to play too~ : Jina

5) The shoemaker takes a breather~ : Gordon

6) The ponytailed uncle gives presents~ : Shane

7) Stay healthy, furry elder~ : Chief Tatamo

8) The blue-haired friend says hello too~ : Kenta

9) The barking puppy~ : Bongdali

10) The lady with angel wings worries a little less~ : Maid Elma

On completion, you could receive the event coins that were active at the time, along with magpie-themed cosmetic items.

2021 : <NEO Superpower Yutnori>

In 2021, there was no separate Lunar New Year event, and instead related elements were added to that event’s mini-game.

During the event period, you could play the Superpower Yutnori shown above and receive NEO Gems, which could be used in the Cash Shop.
