This post focuses on photo spots, highlighting maps that make good backdrops for in-game screenshots.

MapleStory has a wide variety of maps, but certain locations stand out as popular screenshot spots. After searching through several recommendations, I have put together a selection of consistently praised maps, with a look at their scenery and detailed directions to each location.

Official Feature: Capture Mode

Before visiting these locations, you can activate capture mode using the first option in the Other category of the settings window or its shortcut key. This hides all UI elements, including HP/MP, menus, shortcut keys, and the mouse cursor, leaving only the scenery and your character for a clean screenshot.

You can still move and use skills in capture mode, and you can exit by pressing ESC or the capture mode shortcut key.

Kerning City: In Front of the Sunset at the Top Left

Secret Forest of Ellodin: 빛이 흐르는 숲 1

Secret Forest of Ellodin: 깊은 숲 속 샘이 흐르는 곳

Both locations above belong to the [Secret Forest of Ellodin] theme dungeon, but you can visit them immediately without completing any quests, making them convenient stops.

Elluel: Atop the Central Tree in Elluel

To reach the top, jump and use Rope Lift, or take the hidden portal at the base of the tree.

Elluel: Blooming Forest

Enter using the rope on the right side of Blooming Forest 1.

Korean Folk Town: Forbidden Cliff

Henesys: Henesys Park

NEW 웨딩파크

The heart-shaped cloud in the center of the map

Atop the church on the right side of the map

Newer players may be unfamiliar with this map, which you can reach through the NPC shown above. Judging by the NPC dialogue, it no longer seems to serve a practical purpose, but it remains accessible. A nice detail that fits its wedding venue theme is the arrangement of the cloud objects, which are specifically set up for group screenshots.

Click the NPC and choose the upper option to reach the location shown above, or choose the lower option to travel to the 웨딩빌리지 map.

Although less elaborate than 웨딩파크, the 웨딩빌리지 map has its own scenic appeal.

Magatia: Anywhere with a View of the Moon

With its beautiful buildings and the moon in the background, almost any view would be appealing—but in Magatia, anywhere in town makes a beautiful backdrop.

Newer players may also be unfamiliar with FriendStory, as they have little reason to play this content. You can enter through the house in Henesys shown here.

To access the maps above, you need to get through the introductory sequence, which takes around 4 minutes if you skip through it. Begin by starting the prologue shown above and traveling to FriendStory.

Next, simply end this phone call.

Cross the pedestrian bridge and head to the top of the map, then use the bus stop portal to access these locations. FriendStory takes place in a parallel world featuring modern-day Seoul versions of characters from Maple World, so its scenery is filled with real-world elements. These maps are a good choice if you are looking for that kind of atmosphere.
