Today, I'll look at the pros and cons of playing DNF Mobile on different platforms.

What does cross-platform mean?

Simply put, it means the same game can run on different operating systems (OS) or platforms.

DNF Mobile and Mabinogi Mobile are playable on PC and smartphones,

while games like Khazan, The First Descendant, and ARC Raiders are playable on Steam or consoles.

On the Nexon website, icons below each game's icon show which platforms it supports.

DNF Mobile - Smartphones

As the name DNF Mobile suggests,

the game launched as a smartphone game.

Pros of playing on a phone

1. You can play anywhere.

You can play wherever you are, whether you're commuting to work in the morning or heading home in the evening.

2. You can see skill names while playing.

On mobile, you can choose to display skill names on their icons,

so you can read the names as you play.

3. Switching potions is easy.

The touch controls make it easy to switch potions.

On PC, you have to take one hand off the keyboard to click the switch button.

Cons of playing on a phone

1. The controls can be difficult.

This is what I find most disappointing. Despite being a mobile game, it sometimes demands a level of precision that's difficult to manage on a phone.

When monster attacks and your character overlap with the skill controls like this, it's hard to see what's happening. (The situation in this screenshot isn't dangerous, though.)

2. Your internet connection can cause lag.

If your internet connection slows down during your commute, the game can stutter intermittently.

Fortunately, DNF Mobile handles disconnects well, letting you pick up where you left off once you reconnect.

DNF Mobile - PC Version

Still, most hardcore gamers tend to play on PC.

DNF Mobile also has a PC version, and many players use it.

Pros of playing on PC

1. You have more precise control.

As you would expect, the arrow keys let you move your character more precisely, giving you a significant advantage when it comes to control.

2. You can use command inputs.

This is an advantage, but it does feel a little strange that a mobile game supports command inputs on PC.

In theory, this means you can use every skill on PC without being limited by the number of skill slots.

3. The game runs reliably.

On PC, the game runs reliably without the internet issues or performance-related lag you get on mobile.

Cons of playing on PC

1. You can't play whenever you want.

This is an obvious limitation, but you need access to a PC to play.

2. The potion switch button is awkward to use.

You have to take one hand off the keyboard to click the switch button with the mouse, which is inconvenient.

The switch button is also quite small.

Still, since switching potions is easier on mobile, I suppose it is still a mobile game.

Overall

Ironically, although DNF Mobile is a mobile game, playing on PC seems to offer more of an advantage.

Still, I can run Hell Party on the subway, so I do a few runs on my commute, hoping for a good drop.
