If your precious account got hacked, how do you think that would feel? I once had a nightmare where all my MapleStory characters were deleted, and it seriously gave me chills.

After that dream, I made sure my secondary password was set up properly, but it still didn’t feel like enough. At places like PC bangs, someone could just peek over my shoulder, catch my secondary password, and get into my account.

There’s one app that takes care of exactly this concern: Nexon Play!

It’s useful not only for account protection, but also for checking the various events available in Nexon Play. I’ll keep this brief and clear, and I hope it helps plenty of people.

Essential Account Security App, Nexon Play

Once you link Nexon Play to your account, double security is activated. If someone tries to log in from a device other than a PC you’ve designated, they’ll need to enter an OTP code that can only be checked through Nexon Play.

That means even during a large-scale hacking incident, or if someone deliberately tries to break into your account, they still won’t be able to get in. If you go to PC bangs often, this is something I highly recommend setting up.

Even if your account does get compromised, you can spot it right away through email. It’s not a Nexon Play alert, but it’s designed so you can take action immediately through Nexon Play, which makes things a lot more reassuring.

Also, on the Nexon OTP screen in Nexon Play, you can see why the code is being requested. For example, if someone tries to delete my character, a message appears at the bottom saying, “A deletion is being attempted.”

Seeing that screen after your account has been compromised would definitely be chilling, but you can still feel relieved because they can’t actually log in and cause direct damage. A simple way to think of it is this: even if a thief gets through the front gate, they still get stopped at the front door.

If you want to fine-tune your account protection even more, you can set the OTP entry method on the Nexon game login screen. If you only play at home, using a designated PC should be enough. If you visit PC bangs often, it’s better to choose “Enter OTP for every login.”

Through the Nexon Play app, you can quickly check point accumulation as well as event updates, so if you want both stronger account protection and extra convenience, I recommend installing it now.
